Default Official NHL 2009/10 Season Thread

It's hard to believe hockey season is just around the corner. I'm ready to watch the Flyers rumble again this year and hopefully Pronger really has a big impact. Worried about the goalie situation though.

Buccigross is reporting the following 3-way trade but all 3 GMs are denying it:

San Jose = Heatley
Los Angeles = Marleau
Ottawa = Frolov / Jarret Stoll

Would love to see Heatley with San Jose.

I'll be watching my usual four, Dallas, Chicago, New Jersey and Pittsburgh.

How exactly does horror apply to hockey?

LMAO, it doesn't but I'm bored and decided to reply. Of course, hockey is bloody at times and teeth get knocked out, so.................and then again, what does college football have to do with horror?

I wish all noobs would get to know the forums before posting because they usually come off looking stupid. There's a Locker Room section, which this thread is located, to discuss all sports on BD. Every major sport has a yearly thread for discussion.

Well regardless, looks like there aren't many hockey fans on tonight, there's more college football.

I agree, can you answer that Outpost?

As a Pens fan, I'm quite scared about playing the Flyers 8 times this year, with Pronger on their team.

With my other 2 teams, Colorado, they will struggle throughout this year, losing Ryan Smyth.

Chicago, they could be incredible, and will make the playoffs, and probably go to semi finals if not the Stanley Cup.

Yeah, the Pens playing the Flyers is going to be rough but enjoyable to watch and I really hope Chicago does make it to the playoffs. I haven't watched the Avalanche in years, used to a long time ago.

The hockey threads start up slow but increase with activity closer to the start of the season. I thought season sports threads are pretty commonplace on message boards? We have a fair amount of hockey fans here and good variety on teams people follow. Hockey is not a big sport in many places though compared to Football, Baseball, and Basketball. It's a shame was hockey is entertaining and has many great dynamics to the game.

I gotta think about where all the teams are but would love a Flyers/Sharks final. San Jose is due one of these years and the Flyers have improved. Don't think that's what we'd see but as a fan that's what I'd like.

I've followed the Avalanche since their first season in 95. There was no reason to follow them, but my dad gave me a sticker of them in 95, and I put it on my bike, and just followed them and loved their players, especially Sakic. So 15 years later, I'm still following them.
