Alright, I'm sure I am not the only person who is tired of seeing a new Saw movie or DVD thread every couple of days. There seems to be no end to it, so I've decided to make this Official Franchise Discussion thread. No I do not like the franchise so don't PM me for news, or try to discuss the abysmal films with me, it will only anger myself and the mods for the resulting argument.

This thread is for the discussion of ALL things SAW related, including but not limited to:

• DVD release
• Sequel discussion
• Casting discussion

Enjoy it, and for the sake of film enthusiasts everywhere, keep the discussion to this thread.

Alright so I have a question for anyone who saw the first Saw movie in the theatre. When Adam and Larry are in the bathroom, near the beginning of the movie and trying to figure out why they're there...Is it just me or could you see a microphone hanging from the top of the screen? The guy I saw it with and me both saw it...So either we're on crack or they took re-edited it when they released it onto DVD

If you are stepping up to propose an "official thread for SAW, atleast have the resourcefulness of compiling all thread links to SAW discussions.

But look, you just created a plain thread wihtout backing up the thread title.

Uhm, the initial post backed it up just nicely. Why would I link to all of the other threads when this one is in place to discourage the creation of multiple ones, and hopefully house all further discussion?

I did not have the "honor" of seeing the first SAW in theaters but I personally wish that they had ended it at three making it another flawed horror trilogy. The movies have lost their message and have become what fans can "torture porn". The first movie was all about "How far would you go to survive, what would you be willing to give for your life." The second movie ignored this message and kinda-sorta asked "What would you do for someone else?" But three and four became... guts, gore, and a twist! This is not horror! Saw does not deserve to be called horror. If people willingly go into a theater because they WANT to see someone mutilate themselves then the movie obviosly is not scary and just attracts sadists!

the other guy is just an idiot who doesn't know his ass from his elbow, I couldn't care less about anything he has to say, as for the films?

The first one wasn't supposed to have sequels, they just needed to fix the massive plot holes they left it in. Hell, the first one wasn't even good enough to have a sequel as far as I'm concerned, the entire franchise is devoid of any coherent film making.

Now I'll leave the rest of you to discuss why these films are so "good".

it was a technical goof that made it past editing, heres some others that have been found courtesy IMDB:

-Continuity: When Adam finds the Polaroid of Dr. Gordon's family gagged, his hands are holding the wallet differently between shots.

- Factual errors: After the doctor speaks on the cell phone for the first time and the line goes dead, there is a dial tone. There is no dial tone on a cell phone.

- Continuity: When Dr. Gordon is leaving the hotel, he is seen pinching his nose when the photo is taken; when we see the photo he has covered his eyes completely.

You're not on crack it's called a boom mike and it's very embarrassing to have it end up on the master. A more horrifying example of this is in Hollow Man where it nearly whacks Kevin Bacon in the head.
