Night of the Demons remake (2009) - BLOODY-DISGUSTING

According to the main site and Shock Till You Drop, the 1987 cult classic Night of the Demons is getting remade this year. It's being written by the same team who wrote Tobe Hooper's Mortuary and Dario Argento's Mother of Tears. Deep down I think I knew this was coming eventually, but I was hoping it never would. NOTD is one of the most fun low budget horror movies of the past few decades and what it really needs is another sequel that makes up for the mediocre 3.

Most definitely not shocked. There is no reason to remake this movie. They will never be able to replicate the hilarity from the original. I don't know if the plot will make it possible for it to be very scary either. The original kills.

I hate to piss on the parade here...but the original kinda sucks, so I don't really think remaking it's all that big of a deal.

I don't know what you were expecting when you watched it. I was expecting uber cheese and that's what I got. It's a pure classic. Ask anybody.

For the record, I know far fewer that actually liked it than those that do. I have met people with reverance for it...I just will never understand why.

Honestly... this movie is not very innovative at all to be even considered as potential for a remake. :shrug: But I still like the original.

I absolutely love this movie and was dreading a remake, but the quote on the main page kinda made it better: "['Demons'] is a modern take but Angela is still in it. It's got blood, guts, Halloween, breasts, kids, demons and everything else that makes life worth living," Gierasch tells the site" That's pretty much everything I liked from the first one. At least the writers are being true to the movie. They sound like they know what made the first successful and are going to keep to it. I was sold at the mere mention of breasts. I must say boobage is a big part of what made me like horror when i was, say, 8 or 9 and watching Starship Troopers in theaters and copies of Friday the 13th at home. Boobs, blood and gore... everything respectful society doesn't like. Fuck that.

Are you deluded, or just intensely stupid? Almost every R-Rated movie that comes out these days has plenty of all three of those things...and then an unrated edition with even more a few months later.

Return of the Living Dead and Night of the Demons are awesome party movies. Show them at any party with a bunch of friends and a few six packs, and you're in for a good time. It doesn't bother me its getting remade, i always have the original sitting in my DVD cabinet. I can watch it any time. Considering the guys who wrote Mortuary and Mother of Tears are also writing this, this project is already doomed any way. Thats not a impressive resume. Both movies sucked.
