What Book Did You Last Read?

haha, i haven't completed a book since high school. it might have been either Do androids dream of electric sheep or Stranger in a strange land. last book i tried to complete was No country for old men, before the movie came out. i gave up halfway and just waited for the movie. sad i know.

Just finished Volume 1 of Robert R. McCammon's SPEAKS THE NIGHTBIRD, and I don't know why the hell I waited so long to give this one a chance. Actually, I do . . . I'm not a big fan of period pieces. But I couldn't put it down. Took me all of 2 days to read this nearly-500page book.

Starting Volume 2 now.

Love McCammon. Swan Song got me hooked years ago, and I've got the rare audio book of it- great stuff.

Yeah, he was one of the best. Heck, SPEAKS THE NIGHTBIRD is proof that he still is. Doesn't matter at all that he's not writing horror anymore -- a good story is a good story (and his BOY'S LIFE, which is far from horror, is my favorite book of all time).

Looking forward to checking out the other books in this "series," featuring the same protagonist. These are gonna be great . . . .

Two stories from Sleep Disorder by Jack Ketchum and Ed Lee, "Eyes Left and Loveletters from the Rain Forest" Great stuff, I wish they would write together more often.
