I've been following the Bulls for professional purposes, but yeah. The Nets make me want to kill myself.

The weird thing is, the team isn't that bad. The Nets have dressed 8 guys in half their games. That says a lot considering harris just came back two games ago. Lopez is averaging 17 and 9. CDR has a 17 ppg average to go along with 5 boards. Add harris to that mix and I think people are overlooking new jersey. We're also missing jarvis hayes and keyon dooling. Two good rotation players.

It's all good though, because of the losing the nets have been selling cheap seats. I went to a nets/celtics game a few weekends ago, and got floor section seats behind the backboard for 10 bucks a piece.

They outscored the Raptors last night. I'm a Charlotte native and the city loves basketball. When the Hornets were here, Charlotte led the NBA attendance for several years and they were competitive. This expansion franchise has a terrible owner in Bob Johnson who is hated by about 80% of the community and has been poorly run financially. You couple that with some bad luck in the lottery and poor draft picks and some bad coaching until now and you have a struggling franchise. But with the arrival of Jackson, I believe the Bobcats will challenge for the playoffs.

I don't think the Nets could beat the fantasy team, Cupcakes - and they only have 6 fit players...

Funny but everybody looks at the record and assumes their awful, the fact is the Nets have the most serious talent of the teams who will be competing in the 2010 free agency. The Nets will pick it up when harris starts to regain his rhythm along with Courtney Lee.

The Nets looked tasty last year from what I recall, and Harris is a class act. The truth is I'm as suprised as anyone they've not managed to win one of the 15 games. But it's just this period all teams go through.
Shit, I remember the Spurs sucking something awful in the mid 90s before Tim Duncan came along as their first pick in the draft, and the rest is history.....
That's why I love US sports and the drafts - it adds to the excitement instead of the same monotonous predictable outcome every year (see English and Spanish soccer titles).

yeah the spurs had the one awful year when David Robinson had a season long injury and got tim duncan because of that. Crazy.

Harris and Lopez are butter together, they have great chemistry on the pick and roll. Add CDR's 18 ppg to that and you have something to build on. I have actually liked the nets defense, besides from the denver game, The Nets held their last 10 opponents to under 100 ppg. But without Harris we didn't have enough firepower.

not that I wouldn't mind Harris on my team, but I think he's overrated. he gets 20 points per game, but he's a volume shooter. last season he shot 43%, 29% from the 3-point arc, which is bad thing when he takes over 3 a game, with over 3 turnovers as well.

I think the Nets would be a better team if he a played a more pass-first game.

Lopez needs to develop a world more of consistency. he may get you 30 points and 15 boards, or 12 and 7. you just don't know what to expect from him night-in and night-out. CDR has been racking up points and boards, but I'll be more convinced it was his dedication to getting better when Harris is back at 100% and he can still get 17 a night, or if it's simply the luck of being the next best offensive option.

in the end, you can't win games, or playoff series with two quality players surrounded by scrubs. unfortunately, that's where the Nets are right now.

good point. a lucky draft and a teams fortunes can truly change. unless you're the Clippers and Griffin's knee explodes in pre-season.

Mardy, Devin Harris seriously improved his jumpshot last year. That's why he had huge increase. He's definitely got to improve as a facilitator but it's good to see him develop a rapport with other building blocks. At least he can always get to the line.

Also, laugh but I think the loss of Jarvis Hayes has hurt the team. Our perimeter shooting has been awful, and it would sure help the core.

Jarvis Hayes can play, I'm not about to laugh. he was a bright spot on Detroit's bench a few seasons back.

although, Harris did shoot 6-22 last night... the Nyets are starting to make the Lions record look respectable!

I wouldn't completely look at this as a bad situation. who's the top picks in next years draft? they're going to get one of them, and from what I've heard, it's deep with forwards, which is what they NEED.

also, Frank-watch is officially on. if they could land Harris' old coach, Avery Johnson, I would definetely start looking at the Nets as a playoff regular.

but I honestly just can't see why they're losing? the Kings just spanked them, with their three best players out there. now, they're one loss away from the NBA record for worst start in history. luckily, nobody is going to be a free agent this summer, so nobody can bolt.

I wouldn't be totally dissappointed, Kidd. I, personally, would prefer my team to either be competing for a championship, or be terrible enough to force change in the team. at least you're one of those. I hate when teams settle for mediocrity (like Detroit). not good enough to make it past the first round, not bad enough to grab any high potential picks in the draft.
