Firefly is the name of the family/group of people in HOTC/DR. RZ's version Halloween is basically a Firefly version of Haddenfield. (people on both sides have said this, not everyone maybe. Tho pretty sure the RZ supporters said it first.)

Sorry then. was suprised you'd never heard of them or not seen them. Thought maybe you were getting snarky.

Well, HOTC and DR are RZ films. DR is pretty good, many (tho not all) people who hate his Halloweens like it. HOTC is not nearly as popular tho a favorite of most RZ fans I think, dunno for sure.

They aren't actually original, but that's not really much of a problem. For vibe, visuals, dialogue, and language, they're prety much like all the sequels to TCM and The Hills Have Eyes rolled into one, minus the chainsaw.

I think the story is kinda weak in HOTC, but that's not why you'd really be a fan of it if you are.

DR is much better, kinda like a post modern western road trip, if you like/love H1, you'll prolly like/love DR. Even if you hate H1/H2, you may like DR. It takes place the "Firefly pocket universe" where it stands and earns it's own merits.

I will definitely check out those films! I would never get snarky with anyone here, unless they deserve it! You are too to me!

Thanks for the information on Halloween, the J.C. aspects and Zombie's other films.

I can understand why people do not like RZ's version, but it still is his that he told. People are discussing his work, and I know I would want that for myself as a film maker.

As a Zombie basher, you nailed both these movies, especially DR, Good job...

Yeah. Can't disagree with that but you've read my posts regarding how this particular franchise has been well and truly fooked with.

Again I see the same story but retold from a different viewpoint. Rob's vision appears to be Firefly-esque. Horrible people do horrible things to nice people who just happen to be in the way.

I agree with your analogies but the vagueness of The Shape leaves it wide open to interpretation. The original film was created that way, everyone else from then on has tried (and failed) to fill in the blanks. Conan Doyle said 'Without Imagination There Is No Horror' which, to me anyway, is why the original is so good and why everything since isn't even close. The gaps that everyone has tried to fill is the anti-thesis to the void that is The Shape.

I agree. I just want to see a completely different spin on the whole franchi$e. After watching Eraserhead, again, I just felt the need to post it.
