You're so concerned with length of the campaign, rather then the quality of it. There's more to the campaign then just making it from section to section killing people, there's an actual story. L4D2 is more of the first game, random people, going from safe house to safe house, doing the same thing, killing zombies. There's no real story to it. This first off, makes MW2 the superior game when it comes to the single player portion.

Secondly, the online multiplayer MW2 has beats anything L4D 1 & 2 could put together, FACT. MW2 has a ranking system, giving you the chance to gain experience points and level up for doing a number of things. The reason why COD4 is the best FPS game of all time is due to it's multiplayer, and MW2 takes everything great about COD4 and improves on it in spades.

I'm willing to bet that you didn't put any amount of time into the game at all, otherwise you wouldn't be talking out of your ass.
