I used to think this way, but I've actually stopped renting all together, I figure the 9 bucks or so im spending to rent the bluray might as well just be put towards investing to own it.

You can just go to bluray.com to read user reviews before purchasing something.

You have it backwards.. Dawn & Day Of the Dead have lackluster transfers. Halloween has one of the better ones out there. It's the best I've ever seen that film look.

Watched Hellboy II last night. Talk about great PQ & Audio. Very awesome..

Heard that the Near Dark Blu-Ray isn't much of an upgrade over the DVD which is a shame since I was planning to get it. I guess I'll just hold on to my SE.

The live action Blood: The Last Vampire looks and sounds great on Blu-Ray. It's just too bad about the crappy CG and shoddy wire work during the fight scenes.

That's what I do...I don't like to invest money in renting because in the case that I buy something, I've actually ended up paying more for it then. It's easy to tell if the complaints in a review are the type of things I would complain about or not.

i agree...the rest of the dead flicks have some of the best transfers out there, so i don't know what the hell happened with these two. i think it's because they came out fairly early in the life of bluray technology. ...but then again, so did halloween.
