what promised to be an interesting intense movie at the beginning kind of wrecks itself by putting to much unecessary plot in there, and i felt the demi moore character was completely unecessary and the plot with her was not needed at all, and i felt if they cut her out and that storyline out the film would have been alot better and more interesting focusing more on costner's character study and his "conscience" they try to add a bit more twists and turns rather than just focusing on the one plot itself and making the most of it, they throw you around to different things to much that they really didnt need. this movie could have been great, but in the end the walls they built around them crashed down before it was over with.
Easily the best serial killer movie (not based on an actual person) ever made. Even Dane Cook couldn't sour this gem. Costner and Hurt were a phenominal team! Demi Moore didn't shine, but it was good to see her on the screen again.
Interesting twist and turn at the end.
KUDOS!
Mr. Brooks was a good film…I really enjoyed the back and forth between Mr. Brooks and his ‘killer’ inside. I liked the whole ideal that his daughter was going to follow in his footsteps. I think Dane’s character could have used a different actor but, all in all, I like the film.
