In a way I think the scream trilogy put a big blemish on horror cimena. In one end of the agrument it created an origianl and refreshing idea about how a movie can be scary without having a supernatural premise. On the other hand this movie created a trend in horror that made the late 90's and early 00's horrible years to be a horror fan because all the mainstream hollywood horror films tried to profit from these movies. Another thing that gets old is how the movie makes horror rules. I'm sorry but I dont want to be told rules of a horror movie within a movie. I have enjoyed the scream series but must admit I don't find anything scary about the films and because of that reason have to provide a low score. I like horror movies that are over the top and there is nothing over the top about these movies. They try to be smart but we already know the rules.

Scream= 4 and a half skulls(Great Ending! Revived Horror)

Scream 2= 3 and a half skulls(A worthy sequel, but guessed both of the ghost face's identities)

Scream 3= 4 skulls(More suspenseful than the sequel, but nothing beats the original)

Ghostface is my 4th favorite slasher of all time!! Not including Jigsaw. He's more of a Vigilante.

this is probably the best horror trilogy i've ever seen

The Scream movies were the movies that got me into horror and I will always have a special place for all three in my heart...

SCREAM...................
The movie that first got me into the horror genre...when I first saw this 2 years ago when i first started watching horror movies Scream scared the hell out of me. I was and always will be afraid of someone breaking into my house and Scream made that fear alot worse. Drew Barrymore in the first scene was very good and was very terrifying. Than when Sidney came on the screen I knew I would fall in love with her and I did. She is a very good actress and the scene with her and Billy making out on her bed with a slow version of don't fear the reaper was one of the best scenes in the film. Than the next night when Ghost Face was in the house and attacked Sidney I was terrified and hooked in the movie and the rest of the movie is amazing. I found out about most of the horror movies I love today from Scream(Halloween, The Texas chainsaw massacre terror train, the Excorcist and Nightmare on Elm Street). The deaths were amazing and terrified me and the ending was brilliant...a perfect horror movie!!!!

10/10

Scream 2....................
While not as good as the first one I enjoyed this movie!! The beginning scene at the theater was very cool and had to be scary sitting in a theater watching it. I was glad Sidney, Dewey, Gale and, Randy were back and glad that Sarac Michelle Gellar was in the cast...The deaths were just as terrifying as in the first movie and the ending was just as shocking but after the first view of this movie it's just not as good anymore. The only part I don't like in this movie is when Derek sings to Sidney at the lunch table and when Randy dies, I think they should have kept Randy alive through the whole trilogy so him and Sidney could hace had a happy ever after at the end of the third but oh well thats what a horror movie does.
8/10

SCREAM 3.............
This is my 2nd favorite Scream movie...The first kill in the movie should have been more violent and Cotton should have had to go through more pain he was let off to easy. Sidney living all by herself was a brilliant idea but it would have scared me even more knowing there was no help near me. You didn't really care for most of the characters in the this except for Sidney, Dewey and Gale. At first I thought this movie was horrible but the ending won me over. The ending to this is amazing and one of the best endings in horror movie history.
9/10

Now I know there's going to be a Scream 4 but I hope they just start the whole series over and thats it's just as good as the first 3. Sidney and no one from the first three need to be in it because there story is done and there needs to be a few tie-ins with the first 3 with maybe cameo appearences. I just hope it's not a PG-13.

nice trilogy with good story. 3rd one is the best and the trilogy can be watched repeatedly. I liked the idea of the trilogy and the idea of the story but the 2nd one was kinda pointless. It had nothing to do with the way they ended the 3rd one...anyway cant wait for the fourth.

The first one is the best. Not bad acting and effects. It is fun and can be watched over and ove.

SCREAM 1

This is absolutely brilliant and it dosn't leave you waiting either. The first scene with drew is so good that you just hang off your seat for the rest of it! It's all horror in this with no dull moment it is also funny in a sadistic way! And i like that in a horror, very dark comedy in some parts but most of it is horror I love it one of my favourite horrors much better than Wes Cravens nightmare on elm street which SUCKED!

In 1995, there was a flood of horror films, the first to start the flood would be this film here and my review for this one starts now,I was 10 when this movie came out and lemme tell u, the things i planned to be last into the theater and low and behold i was. With a theater packed full of screaming people I realized this movie was gonna be a classic in its own genre, Its started out just perfect,If you haven't captured an audience in the first say 5 minutes of the movie then you got a sitting duck film. Not this one from the first 5 minutes to the last 5 minutes, the acting is convincing and welll done. The killer is unique and one of his kind. your kept guessing the whole movie until the climax ending. As for the films that follows they seemed to get gorier and less interesting and far more away from the storyline. I prefer the first over any of the others and it really is a must watch for anyone and anyone.

The original "Scream" was the best of the three. The scenes with Drew Barrymore were very well done ( my favorite part of the whole flick). The second one reeked. Especially the singing in the cafeteria, & the ending. The third was crap, with the exception of the scene with Sid's dead mother coming to her window. I liked that part. Overall, the original Scream is the best for being original & reviving the genre!!! Rose McGowan----H-O-T!!!!

I grew up on these movie and can i watch them over and over

Posted By: ChrisV at 3:25pm, January 11, 2009

I loved these movies when i was like 13-15 as they were being released. I can still remember buying my ticket to some PG rated comedy and sneaking in to the first film.
But these films have NOT aged well. You gotta respect "Scream" for giving the horror genere a kick in the ass, Horror in the mid 90's was a joke. But watching them now as an adult
(the first 2 anyway, the 3rd is total garbage)
They just dont stand up. Veeerrryyy Cheesey!
So i am giving these films 4 skulls collectivley, on sheer nostalgia alone.

It's a kinda fresh start for horror films by making fun of the horror films of the 80s it was a great trilogy and i can't wait for scream 4

A great trilogy of movies. The first Scream movie in my opinion is the best horror movie of the mid to late 90's. A fantastic plot, that had you guessing until the end who the killer is. The scenery in this movie is great to. Scream 2 was a good sequel. It followed the formula that made the first one great, and had you trying to figure out who was behind the killings. Scream 3 gets a lot of negative reviews because of the ending. I can understand why the last final twist, would upset some, because it does feel like the writers did kinda stretch it with that. However I love the hollywood setting for this movie as well as seeing all the wonderful characters in this movie, especially the characters playing characters of other characters in the movie. Overall the Scream trilogy is much fun, and I would recommend watching this.

I loved the first movie, thought the second was pretty good, and liked the way they kept it in sinc with the first, and was okay with the third one although I thought they were stretching it kinda far with the whole brother thing and how he set everything up. But on the whole changed the horror genre for a while until all of the knockoffs.

i tried to watch scream when i was 10 but than my dad came in and told me to turn it off, three years later i saw it and i was really impressed one of the greatest horror movie trilogies ever

Posted By: BK's Finest at 4:16pm, December 6, 2008

The first one was great, a fun and smart movie. The 2 others are really not. 9/10 for the first, 5/10 for the sequels.....

So my note is just for the original cuz there is no single review for each movie.

Posted By: Fridaythe13th at 4:06pm, December 6, 2008

I remember watching Scream for the first time when I was 7 or 8. Scared the crap out of me! Could barely watch the whole thing, well without my hands over my eyes that is. Classic film and a great trilogy!

Posted By: rusted31 at 4:59am, December 6, 2008

I love these films. The first time I saw the first installment in cinemas, I pissed myself in the first 10 mins.Wes Craven struck back hard with these 3 films and the fact they were based on my fave horror of all time, Halloween , was just the icing on the cake. Part 2 upped the ante while part 3, not as sharp as the first 2 still tied up everything pretty well. I'd love to see a 4th installment. Highly recommened.

Posted By: Screamer at 1:36am, December 6, 2008

Grew up on these movies, I love them. Though the first is the best, the others are good as well. But I would say you would have to really like the first two in order to like the third one, cause it's not great. Most people should enjoy the first at least, if not -- then I don't know.

Posted By: LivingCorpse at 6:36am, November 21, 2008

I first saw Scream when I was 8 years old. I actually saw them from the third to the first but I fell in love right away. I remember sitting infront of the TV and watching the movies over and over again.
They are actually not that scary. But if you want to watch a horro movie that's not really scary but more interesting then you should watch Scream.

Wonderful trilogy of pictures that gets a little bit worse after each one, meaning the best is the original, then scream 2, then scream 3, scream 3 definatly had a lack of quality to it that the first two had plenty of, the 3rd didnt have many characters that were interesting enough to care about, scream 1 and 2 are great great films though.

Awesome trilogy.

Posted By: MichaelMyers1031 at 7:03pm, September 6, 2008

A cool series, this was supposed to be the end of the slasher genre but it wasn't it only reborn the genre. I've always liked how the movies worked part 1 is basiclly a tribute to most of the classics. Part 2 is like a sequel type with Ghostface returning and part 3 is the final one the trilogy the last one. Part 1 I really enjoyed they metioned Halloween the most (they were even watching it, they also mationed other classics such as Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, Psycho etc... So part 1 was definitely the best. Part 2 wasn't my favorite Scream but I thought it was okay I liked Billy's mother being the killer kinda reminded me of Betsy Palmer in Friday the 13th but I liked the sequel type and it was a decent film. Part 3 was a good film I liked the idea of it being the final film the end of the trilogy and it worked for the last part the end the killer is now dead(even though theres a different killer each film) good way to end the seres. so highly recommended.

Freakin' awesome movie series! I have the Ultimate Collection DVD Box Set and I LOVE IT! My fave part would have to be part 1 the original. Might be a little corny and cliche but I LOVE IT none the less.

super !!!

Absolute best movie trilogy that I've seen. I loved the first, liked the second, and liked the third (but it was definitely the weakest of the three -- Ehren Kruger isn't such a great writer, at least not in this case.) But the first and second generally make up for the third's flaws.

Posted By: chip85 at 10:17pm, June 1, 2008

Definitely the best trilogy, yeah ok 3 wasnt the best, I did actually like the story line but absolutely hated how they basically mocked the series and all other horror films, way too much comedy and not enough scares. Real pity that Kevin didnt write it I say

Posted By: Dallas13 at 9:37am, June 1, 2008

it was ok nothing i would rush to the store to buy either the calling part was cool but the talking chasing over and over got boring

Posted By: jpugly13 at 2:52pm, May 30, 2008

Alright I really enjoyed the first sceam it was incredible. the ideas and the really good acting along with a good twist at the end. It was really good and will always be good. Now for the rest in this trilogy they are no where near as good. The movie went from a good movie to a copy of the one before and a new invention on the partners in crime. They are good but not after scream they are very predictable. Other than that the movies are good and the second two bring down my score.

One of the best horror trilogies of all time. These were the films that got me into slasher films and actually horror movies. I loved the whole trilogy.

Posted By: deathtiger at 2:25am, April 30, 2008

Ah Scream, a trilogy of slasher flicks that are now a guilty pleasure for the modern day horror fan. Let me start by saying, Scream was one of the movies that got me to really notice horror films ((I'm young, get over it)) But since this review is about all three of them, I'll break this down to each film.

Scream: The godfather of the 90's slasher craze in my opinion. Not only did this film had a clever script with witty dialogue, it had impressive plot twists. The beginning of the film still shines as a great piece of horror, No one expected a huge actress to be attacked and killed in such a way, it left it's lasting effects on the audience. The characters were well written, and the performances were spot on. Scream is one of those movies, pop it in, I'll sit and watch it anytime.

Scream 2: A true sequel. It played its cards well. First, the cast returned, something you really don't see much in horror. More great performances and clever writing, using the ploy of a sequel as its guide. The character of Cotton made the plotline seem even more fascinating. Was very impressed, and this trilogy is going well so far....

Scream 3: The red headed step child of the series and a crushing blow to Scream fans. I found the plotline to be horrendously boring, every so-called scare was obvious, repeating what the previous two had done really. It was childish, and just awfully paced. I like to ignore its existence actually.

If you're looking for a fun series to watch in one sitting, or just want to watch a classic, The Scream trilogy might just be what you're looking for.

Scream is one of my favorite scary movies of all time I mean the head in the cat door scene that killed Rose Mcgowin is pricless! Although the 3rd one wasnt that great!

Posted By: ScreamFan at 2:19am, February 10, 2008

All three movies are amazing. These movies are the movies that brought me into slasher/horrors in the first place.
Although it declines in each sequel, all three are perfect additions to any horror fans collecetion. It is basically about a killer stalking young Sidney Prescott, and brutally murdering, and attempting to murder, her freinds.

Posted By: z0mBiE*rAmPaGe1 at 1:35pm, February 8, 2008

the first scream was decent enough but when u throw in the other barely scary screams the overal picture ur gonna get is crap:(

Posted By: halloweenfan at 7:03pm, February 7, 2008

Scream is a good set of movies but you notice decline in each sequel.
