This movie looks alright, the acting is ok and one thinks that it might get interesting after the first ten minutes, but then nothing really happens. The movie keeps you interested in what is going on, but it all just falls flat. This is just another below average horror movie that tries to be different, but fails.

Brilliant, one of a kind, disturbing, gross-out flicky that makes you cringe and gag and jump.

It grabs your attention from the very start and doesn't let you go. It's overall very interesting and the effects are very much like The Thing which is good because it's not all that CGI crap. You get a very strange feeling about the place and you know somethings not right.
Better than average acting, directing, cinematography. Works on several levels, including atmosphere, establishing fear and a sense of dread. Flawed characters even--and in a horror film! My only negative: a little slow at times. Overall an excellent film, in the current sea of mediocre horror films.
I have had this downloaded for some time but could never get it in English. Well, I didn't have anything better to do so I watched it without being able to understand a word of it. But who knew you didn't need to understand the words. This is an exception horror film and the imagery tells the story on it's own. I've never heard of Billy O'Brien, but I would love to see some of his other work. For fans of really scare movies that don't rely strictly on gore (although there is enough of that here as well) don't miss this one.
Ïsolation" more than fits the title as the whole film is dark and uninviting, like an old farm located on the far outskirts of town. There is a lot of fog and a sense of impending horror which is served up via a cow giving birth to a calf that is infested with parasites that are loaded with rows and rows of nothing but teeth.
And of course one manages to survive and wreak havoc on the inhabitants, growing all the while.
I want everyone to see this not knowing what they are in for as I did. It is truly a good horror film and for the life of me I don't understand why it evidently didn't have a theatrical run.
I give 10 out of 10.
im stumped on this movie it was good but i guess not good enough i did love the opening credits very old school feeling, but i just needed a little more to make it what i wanted it to be.
janene42 is fucking hilarious man. I agreed, as well, definately something different. It was a very well made movie, that hasn't gotten much of it's deserved attention. I think this was bypassed by many folks who would really eat it up. The gore is top notch, like everyone has said, it can get sickening, and that means aLOT coming from me man, I love that red shit. But the main focal point I wanna address is that the acting, and realistic atmostphere (which is thick), and most notably, the ethereal score that echoes in the backround. I can't think of it now, but I remember really diggin it. Take a look and listen at this widely missed gem, I swear you won't be disappointed, that is if you have good taste (bigmo_402 cough cough)
I loved it. Original plot that had believability as well as great effects. This is the first movie in a long time that made me curl my toes in disgust and horror.
This movie reminded me of a r- rated x files. You hardly get to see the killer and when you do it's a joke. It build up slow and despite a few average gore scenes, this movie was just average. What a disapointment after seeing all these skulls.
ISOLATION (2005)
Directed by Billy O' Brien
Actors: from UK and Ireland, no main names
Who Will Love It: Anyone looking for something different, haters of all things farm, monster movie fans, the discerning eyes that love special effects
Who Will Hate It: PETA, serial killer / intelligent thriller junkies, and of course, the pop culture leeches that suck on only the grotesquely wonderful, but critically acclaimed and highly produced in horror film.
The first twenty minutes of this movie will punch you in the face and leave you with only "What in the fuck was that?!?" It's set in a rural farm in Ireland, that's mostly filled with cows and the contempt of the owner. You slowly begin to piece together that this is the type of farm that PETA and the EPA are warning everyone about; with shady scientific experiments and naive workers that suffer the consequences of fucking with mother nature. I of course, never like to give much away, but you will never look at the OSU agriculture department the same way, or the glass of milk you take with your cereal in the mornings. I really loved this movie: the film had good quality, the acting was capable of building suspense, the story was original and frightening realistic and the effects made me and my dear friend Rich have to stop eating. If you're looking for a gross out with something new, get it, but don't expect for your new girlfriend to cuddle up and screw you afterward. She'll surely be disgusted, maybe puke, and never fuck you if you show how much you love it.
