I, along with many others, am in love with this movie. Grade A Troma right here, easily one of Lloyd's best. Extreme gore and extreme nudity make this movie amazing, and the gore effects and the makeup are all done beautifully. Shot on gorgeous 35mm, and it looks GREAT. Just one complaint; it being a musical
The most disgusting, tasteless, vile, unprofessional pile of crap I've seen all year! It seems like they tried so hard to make us laugh and gross us out that they threw all of their class out the window. I don't mind raunchy comedies if it's done right but this was brainless, it only grossed me out than making me laugh, maybe if I was stoned I would of laughed until it hurts but I know stupidity, borderline sex film when I see it. I gave it one extra star because it kind of has it's so bad it's good quality to it and there wasn't a dull moment in this movie but it wasn't smart or funny enough for me, just nasty crap that you want to take a shower after watching it, maybe that's what they were going for. Not recommended!
This is the movie that launched me into loving Troma and I have to give this movie a lot of respect for doing that. This movie has it all, hilariuos gross out jokes, alot of gore and blood, and lesbians :D. IF you are new to Troma and have never seen one then watch this because this is a great Troma film and Lloyd Kaufman is a f***ing genius. If you don't like this movie you either don't get it or have no real sense of humor, if anyone ever f***ing compares this to sh**, then they are f***ing retarded. This movie is great, WATCH IT, BUY TROMA!!!! 9/10

Blood, guts, feathers, musical numbers, zombies and lesbians-this is what bad movies are all about.. I went into this movie expecting a low-budget Troma flick, good for some laughs and groans, but this was better then I thought.. I was laughing the whole time, this film holds nothing back and mocks everyone you can think of at least once. The make-up, gore and effects were better then I expected, and the song lyrics were hilarious. Credit must be given to Kaufman, this is why he has made it this far making his kind of films- because he knows what bad movies are all about.. The characters are likable, the script is quite well written and the dialogue is quotable. All in all, a great helping of nudity, blood, and trash from the guys at Troma
I want my time back. This has got to be the one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The combination of amateur acting, terrible script, and irritating musical numbers make this film a collosal waste of time and money. Though it is a very low budget film, the money could have been better spent on absolutely anything. The only enjoyable part of the movie is that the female lead is cute and takes her shirt off a lot.

A good troma but after a while i was tired of the singing....
Watching Poultreygeist is like eating a turd for $500 - you think it will be worthwhile at first, but once you actually start, you kind of regret agreeing to it in the first place. As a fan of the old Troma films (namely 'The Toxic Avenger'), I went in to this film with high hopes for some nasty and gory entertainment, but I felt shortchanged by the end.
I should start out by saying that the plot is nonexistent. Of course, that's not much of a complaint for a Troma film. Anyway, my other complaint is that the nude scenes in Poultrygeist aren't very good (as in the girls aren't hot). Nudity is a staple of Troma Entertainment, so I was disappointed, to say the least.
There are many positive aspects of this movie, though. The grossness is ramped up (the bathroom scene is barf-worthy), and the gore is fine, but not as overdone as it could have been. The social commentary is smart, which I appreciated, but overall the film seemed a bit lackluster, and not in the good, Troma sense. It's worth watching, though, particularly for Troma fans, but it's not the best thing since sliced bread, like 'The Toxic Avenger' was.
Now I grew up watching Troma films and ya they sucked ass but they were fun too watch like The Toxic Avenger and Nukem High. But this movie was fuckin awesome. Loads of humor and gore to keep everyone satisfied. The songs were also really funny. A surprisingly good film. Trust me you are gonna want to check this out.
When I first saw this film advertised in 2007, I thought that looked like another low budget piece of shit. Then when I saw that it got a lot of positive reviews, I respected its success, but I still did not want to see. Then, I really had the urge to see it because it looked like a film that takes a completely serious approach... to being completely ridiculous. Then, I finally bought it, saw it, and was completely satisfied with what I saw. It's outrageously funny, gory, and over the top. The only thing I did not like about the film was the numerous musical numbers. Number one: they were only in the beginning, so I questioned why they stopped all of a sudden. Number two: they got to be annoying as fuck. But, other than that, I'm really glad I had a change of heart and gave this film a chance. Now I really want to see Terror Firmer and The Toxic Avenger.
This movie has all the over the top gore offensive scenes and nudity you could want from a troma film this is in my opinion the best movie of 08

people criticized this movie for its mediocre acting, bad production, and everything else they could think of. well, remember, the cast and crew were not paid at all. they did this for the pure fun of it, and i think that makes this all the more better. lloyd kaufman, the founder of troma, had been trying for years to get troma on the map, and could have, but many bootleg copies were put out prior to its release, and poor troma didnt make as much as planned. truly, i think it is a great horror comedy. only question i have, is what is tromas obsession with putting ron freakin jeremy in all its films? he adds nothing.
Other than the first Toxic Avenger film, i'm not really a troma fan. But this may change my mind a little. Not great in the horror dept. But super funny and offensive. Right up my alley.

One of the greatest movies from Troma.lots of bloody and weird scenes.
This has to be one of the wildest, most fu__ed movies I have ever see. If you haven't seen this, do anything you can to find it. One of the strangest, goriest and bloodiest of all time.
