A solid remake that was a lot of fun to watch. Definitely creeped me out.

A great remake. I saw it in theaters when it was released and i truely enjoyed the entire movie. I haven't seen many remakes i really like but this is one of the great few.

nice remake but I prefer the Original

By far one of the best remakes I've seen.
It was DISGUSTING. It grossed me out beyond anything I have ever watched, but I just couldn't turn it off. Loved it. Definitley recommend : )

BAD

Posted By: deadgoon697 at 2:28pm, August 23, 2009

Easily the best of the Horror remakes. I find the original to be dull and more of a chore to actually have to sit through. Aja brought an amazing style to the film and actually made me care about what's going on. I'm so confused as to how it recieved such a low rating.

Man remaking an amazing cult classic was a bad idea, but they made it good. This movie is awesome; great music, GREAT gore, and some pretty suspenseful sequences. An amazing remake, easily the best out there, and I'm ashamed to say this but I thought it was better than the original.

How could they remake a classic like The Hills Have Eyes? Well, they have, and they have succeeded! This awesome remake is everything you need from a horror movie. Gore, action, suspense and terror. This movie is one of the best American horror movies I have ever seen in this modern age. Amazing CGI, great gore and special effects and an even better sound track, this movie is possibly the best remake of them all, along with Halloween! The acting is solid, the script and plot are amazing, and those deformed people are just brilliant.

10/10

amazing remake the surpasses the original in every way. i'm shocked BD gave it a low rating as well, it was and is, so far, the best remake of a horror film to date.

Posted By: bufffiiieee at 4:19pm, July 22, 2009

I can't believe BD gave this film such a low review,I was very pleased with this film. One of the very few remakes I like.

What takes place in the trailer once the shit hits the fan makes this film; relentless violence and the demise of some "important" characters in deeply unpleasant circumstances.

Kill The Baby!, great movie!

Yeah, I totally dont agree with the bd review, how could you not say that this was a great horror movie, the trailer scene in the beginning was so fuckin fucked up it actually upset me the first 1 or 2 times I saw it. and when that democrat dude or whatever, fights that rediculously strong freak, that was great, this movie was really good, the second one was pretty shitty though, whyd they have to bring the army in? I knew from the beginning it wouldnt be good. This is a classic. Gory as hell, and yes, admit it! this is gorier than frontier(s).

Pretty intense flick. I was shocked by what they did with this. This movie is not for the weak. I felt the ending was rushed. Awesome though.

I love Alexandre Aja's works, he has this amazing creativity and style that brings movies to life and makes them so much fun to watch. This movie is definatley a questionable flick though. There were many things that made you just want to cancel out on a family vacation in this film. It was very uncomfortable to watch at times and I'm not one to say this for many films but hell, it scared me. The sets were errie and unsettling, and the acting was very good considering the genre. The ending was really cool too, which is another reason why I love Alexandre's projects, he always, I reapeat, ALWAYS gives you an ending that will make you think beyond. To talk about some drawbacks of the film, there are a few: Sometimes the action was a bit silly in terms of what was all going on at once, and the consistency of the film just seemed a little odd. Aside from that, I think gorehounds, indie movie lovers, and vacationers will like this movie. It's a really fun and thrilling watch. In conclusion, I'm not going with my family to New Mexico for spring break this year after seeing this movie.

Truly an instant classic, probably the most terrified I have ever been in a theatre, definately my favorite from Alexandre Aja. Well done

Down right BRUTAL! Remake or no remake its still a movie that will make you cringe and actully feel what the victims in the movie are feeling, so many times I wanted to jump into the movie and fight along side of the family and beat the living hell out of them mutants. Aja did a great job with this movie. This movie I use every year in my halloween movie marathon!

Alex aja... When someone says his name, I can Name THE HILLS HAVE EYES right off the bat. Well i felt a little embaressed about leaving the theater when the Rape part came and i barley saw any movie like that Before that gave me that Shock and horror. Alex Makes The Original Wes movie "THE HILLS HAVE EYES"(1977) look like Elmos world. It was brilliant with how the Jagged hills and the town, Especially The fight scene was very well done and Very bloody and graphic. Looked like he used a little CGI blood on some scenes. But dont even get me Started on Score. Tomandandy Not only match the music with the movie, He makes a Masterpeice of horror. Disturing and heart pounding. Perfect from The Beginning Titles to the Credits.
I love how the dog gets his revenge. its awesome.
Slicing and dicing. I just wish he Directed the second one. Which comes to mind. I need to review that one too. I give this movie a perfect 10. With Mutant rapes to Waking up in a Pile of body parts. I wish i could meet this brilliant man. Well Peace Out!

I like this. For one, it is better than both the original and the sequal to this, so it must be good. Fortunetly, it is. Its no legendary horror movie, though, in fact, it is pretty much known for the scene where this girl gets raped by a mutant cannibal thing. Graphically. Very. Visually...graphically. Anyhow, the rest of the movie is pretty cool, features a guy getting a pick-axe to the head, a baseball bat to the head, guns, weapons, etc. Overall, I would say get it, and if you really like it, try out the sequal to it...it has more guns :)

Just an awesome remake that outshines the original in every way.

amazing alex aja is a great director.

by far one of the best remakes.

Posted By: DarkMind at 6:31am, July 17, 2008

It was alright. Never really scary but pushed the limits on horrible. The freaks were okay. Great for a remake but didn't cut it for me.

Posted By: thedescent08 at 10:04pm, June 26, 2008

amazing

Posted By: PromNight2008 at 7:56pm, May 21, 2008

This is a truly great remake to a truly mediocre original movie. Aja really knows how to pack thrills into a movie. It's very effective, thrilling... hell, even scary. Easily the best remake since the new craze has hit.

Posted By: alecelmboy at 7:15pm, April 27, 2008

Great Remake.

one of the best remakes ever. this movie has awesome blood and gore and was intense as hell. this is 2006's best horror movie. the mutants are creepty and the horror is amazingly real. the unrated version makes the movie much better.
