You guys can forget about the original.
This is so much better in every possible way.
The acting, the deaths, the gore, the pacing, the twist, the ending.

It's a shame that the first one was so bad, almost nobody even gave this sequel a chance.

It's great. I never thought I would say that, for a sequel to the lameest movie of all time, but yes, I loved it. Boogeyman 2 isn't a supernatural thriller, or a spooky movie, it's a slasher movie, which I think is a great choice of direction considering the stupid first movie. Tobin Bell also stars in this one, which makes it ten times better with his marvelous acting and great choice of direction from the Saw franchise. Boogeman 2 is a solid, gory slasher which doesn't bore you. But it is spoiled by some lame acting (except for Tobin, of course). There is a few scares, which are re - cycled ideas from the first movie, but still, you never expect it. A great, solid sequel.

8/10

Boogeyman 2 should not have been a sequel, or even been considered as a sequel to the first Boogeyman. One, there is absolutely no relation between the two stories. And two, Boogeyman 2 is so much more improved than the first.

This film was much more exciting, the characters much more interesting, the scares much more enticing, and the overall plot better developed.

this is an amazing slasher movie with a great exposition at the end! better than the first as well!

I concur with drewbster, Tobin bell is a good enough of reason alone to watch this title. As for the movie itself I can't really complain about how "Boogeyman 2 isn't an actual sequel of Boogeyman" cause I never seen the first one 'cause I heard it sucked. as a stand alone movie I found it rather entertaining

Well, this will please the gore fans, its Scream 26 A.K.A. Boogeyman 2. only problem is its not a sequel to Boogeyman, its just a slasher flick with nothing of the original story in it.

I've nothing against slasher movies, and if held on its own this wouldn't be a bad flick, but its a real shame to screw with the first movie just to widen the audience base. A sell out, actually.

A lot better than the original, though some people will probably be pissed off at the ending.

It was gruesome and gory; a lot more gritty and violent than the first. Plus the other kid from 7th Heaven's in this... and gets cut in half by an elevator. Awesome.

And I thought the original was bad....

Tobin Bell is the only reason I wanted to see this, but it wasn't enough. I'm glad I used a free coupon for the rental.

I didn't like this movie. I wasn't thrilled with the first one, but I thought it had more suspense than the sequel. Disappointing.

I have not seen the original (due to the skeptical PG-13 rating and after seeing that the 100+ minutes) I sat down and watched this movie that was added to sci-fi's long list of cheesy horror movies with zero to no seriousness in them. I admit i'm surprised. The acting was good. THe death scenes uncomfortable and overall creepy, now I'll see the 3rd and original. You gotta give this props.

Utterly disgusting. This is just more pathetic than the “original”. Most sequels have some connection to ther preceeder but in this piece of dog food the only connection was the name. In the original, the boggeyman was real but in the sequel the bogeyman wasn’t. This isn’t scary, has no suspense, and fails to draw you in. I understand that someone would want to be part of this film as they probably thought they could out do the less than boring original, but without a well known director i don’t see the point.
The plot was a dissapointment in itself as it had no connection with it’s preceeder. Without this people who saw THE BOOGEYMAN would be slightly dissapointed. When people would rent this they would expect the boggeyman to be real rather than a man in a suit.
The acting was something that shocked me because yet again there is a low budget film that has great acting but not so great directing. Tobin Bell yet again stars in another horror. His other horror credits include THE SAW FRANCHISE, BURIED ALIVE in which he was great. Overall the acting felt real but without solid plot details it would be hard to act in.
Overall Boogeyman 2 has no scares, suspense, or plot which is unsatisfying to watch. My rating is 1/5

This movie was way better than the original!!!! It should have been in theatres but since the original ruined the chances of this one being in theatres.......... well this movie had a good story and was actually creepy!!! there was a couple of laughable parts but all in all a good movie!!!

After the crappy original movie, this was a huge improvement. The acting was much more fresh and the deaths were so much better. Each death gets more gory and more hard to handle. It plays with what the characters fear and what you fear. I have to give these people props. They made a good sequel. The blood effects were very good, the acting was okay, and the story was better. Boogeyman 2 is definitely an improvement and I hope Boogeyman 3 is just as good or even better.

This was a pretty good movie for a sequel. Kill scenes were good with a little gore mixed in. Worth watching

id rate this movie an 8 because it was good but it had its moments that were just like ... what?

Posted By: DiegOmen16 at 8:20pm, June 9, 2008

I really got dissapointed when i figured out that this wasnt a ghost/supernatural movie but instead its a slasher film, but that doesnt mean its a bad movie its actually a really good movie(odd for a straight to dvd film)with a few scares, sex scene, blood, gore, violence so it really deserves a unrated dvd.
