Great movie but not for everyone. If you dont like chacter development then that means you suck balls and dont deserve to watch this movie anyways so stick to I know what you did last summer.

Awesome movie, I had no idea about what it was about before I watched it (im a youngin') but it really informed me. It was very suspensful and interesting, especially since it was a true story.

David Fincher knocks the ball outta the park with this one. I was expecting a Se7en type of film and am glad that what we got instead is a crime/mystery drama instead of a crime horror. Zodiac is a long movie but it needs to be as there is so much story to be told by so many different players who were involved in this truly captivating case. The ensemble cast are all oustanding , especially Gyllenhaal and Downey Jnr. It is so refreshing to watch a movie where the acting takes center stage instead of blood and FX. When violence is shown it is confronting, realistic and shocking ,probably more so as we know these horrible acts were actually committed by a killer who was never caught. As the film slow burns we actually care for these fully fleshed out characters and want them to resolve this case as it eventually consumes everyone involved, noteably Gyllenhaal. The scene with his character in a basement with a possible suspect is pure nailbiting stuff. Zodiac is an intelligent captivating drama/mystery and one that deserves attention. If your looking for a run of the mill chase the killer tale then look elsewhere but if you want a slow burn/character study crime investigation mystery then this is the film for you.

I have been wanting to see this movie for a long time. After finally viewing it I must say that the movie simply sucked and I want the two and a half hours of my life back. Total crapola.

I returned this movie to the video store without even finishing it. It's yet another example of how the boring and unremarkable can be mistaken for deep and contemplative. Do yourself a favor and rent something else.

snooze, check out this directors other films as they are all far superior to this borefest. If you like films with viscerality, intensity, and terror, with some blood in the mix, dodge this. If you like investigation movies that 50% of the film is spent in the presinct looking at cork boards full of "clues" and "photos", and inevitably boring the viewer to death with meaningless and arbitrary detail then this is your bag... baby. Also an extra star because I happen to love the rest of this director's catalogue.

Zodiac was overall a disappointment for me, but there are a few scenes that I will remember forever, especially the scene with the zodiac torturing the couple. I was actually scared for once in a modern horror movie. I give it a 4 because it was a great idea but it could have been SO much better given the budget and resources it had, and a usually great director.

This was a hell of a long movie and yea it was better than {the zodiac}. Great from the beginning to the end. Highly recommend

Very long movie. But it was so worth it sitting through the 2.5 hours. I loved this movie. A lot better than "The Zodiac".

Zodiac killer is a great topic. I love reading about it. Crazy how they never caught him.

Director David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en) creates a crime drama classic with his new film, Zodiac. Based off the real Zodiac killings that took place in the 60's and 70's, Fincher does an excellent job of putting you in this time period, while being mesmerized by the mystery behind the Zodiac. Personally, I think this is his best film to date, which speaks volumes.

Jake Gyllenhall, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr. put on top caliber performances. These are the three different points of view you'll be seeing this movie from. A lot of this film plays out like a Law and Order episode, each character trying to solve the puzzle of the Zodiac. The three leads are each effected in a different way, which was very effective and extremely intriguing. I found myself rooting for these people, despite already knowing the inevitable outcome to the case. Gyllenhaal's arc brings the suspense, Downey represents the comedic elements, and Ruffalo's story examines the frustration behind the case. You get a slice of each characters unique perspective behind the unsolved murders.

The three murder scenes are wonderfully executed. Each scene felt real, creppy, and intense, highlighting the lake murder scene which was breathtakingly realistic.

I think some viewers were put off by the style of this film, expecting a horror rather than an spellbinding police procedural. I felt this style was much better than if done as a horror film. Horror films tend to lack the wit and intelligence that a terrific crime film, like this, undoubtedly posses. The script by James Vanderbilt is witty, comedic, and smart, very well written.

Zodiac was my favorite movie of 2007. I was completely wrapped up int he mystery, suspense, and drama of the Zodiac case. The ending is very creepy and captivating, itching the viewer to do his or her own investigation into this case. It works as a character study, a period piece, a suspense thriller, and a crime drama..I can't wait to see it again.

This movie is great. Of course it is not scary none of these are scary. They are tales of killers. This movies is really well done. I only wish that i had waited to watch the special edition with the interviews with the actual people on the dvd. Great watch.
