I didn't like the classic, and I hate the remake even more. Corny American teenagers running around the place, with stupid acting and a lame plot, The Fog is a disaster. It isn't scary, exciting, fun or even worth watching. Infact, I wouldn't even reccomend touching the damn thing in a store. Please avoid.
Boring. I found this to be really boring and slow. It had some cool ghost effects, but nothing else in the film was physically appealing. It tries so hard to be scary, but it's very obvious what's gonna happen. It was way too predictable, and the ending is one of the worst i've ever seen. The fact that one single thing that is so pointless stopped the whole thing, just makes the movie more worse than it actually was. This was the third occasion i have tried to watch it and finally got through it. It is so boring and the pacing is so slow, there really is no point to it.
The plot could've been really successful in giving decent scares, but the way the scenes were set-up it was made too predictable. The ending should've been worked on alot more to make it really potentially scary.
The acting was actually decent with "Slema Blair" being the highpoint. Her role, although supporting was very well acted, and was the most realistically portrayed. "Tom Welling" and "Maggie Grace" were just as equal as eachother, and were neither bad or great.
Overall "The Fog" tries to hard to be scary, and the stupid ending really makes the film seem worthless. My ratins is 2/5.
This was the most boring piece of shit ive ever seen in my life. it was so incredibly gay it got me into a reallly bad mood after i saw it, and it actually was one of those movies that makes you think after you saw it " wow I am a fuckin loser, I really had nothing better to do with my life than watch this movie, I really wish I could get those 2 hours back" The most pathetic excuse ive probably ever seen.
oh, and I can only give a 2/10 i dont know why. this would have gotton - 5
If you liked this movie (or any other PG-13 remake for that matter), you must really miss "dawson's creek". I've got good news for you though, "90210" is coming back. Now that's a scary ass remake.
The original The Fog is a classic in my eyes, and had a good sense of dread about it as well as building suspense. This lacks in both of those, as well as acting and thrills in general. It just wasn't good.
"Allow me to save you $8 by offering something you can do at home that is just as entertaining as watching this movie. Go get a load of whites and throw it in your dryer. Now, add in one red sock. (Make sure everything's dry so you don't end up with a bunch of pink laundry.) Now, hopefully you have the kind of dryer that has the clear window in front. If you do, start the load and watch the laundry spin around. Every time you see the red sock pretend to be scared.
That's it. That's the equivalent to seeing this movie. As entertaining as watching your laundry dry and every bit as scary as a red sock.
Others have already punched all the holes in the plot (or complete lack thereof) that are necessary. I won't beat that dead horse. As mentioned, the acting was completely mailed in. The CGI was hokey, stilted and throw in in a lot of scenes unnecessarily. This wasn't just a really bad movie, this was a really bad horror movie. Most horror movies these days suck to one degree or another, but this moving distinguishes itself as being among the worst of the worst. Seriously, save yourself the time and energy and steer clear of The Fog. I haven't seen a horror movie this bad since I saw the remake of The Haunting." --holder_MD, imdb.com
What the hell happened with this movie it was absolutely perfect, scary and violent so why critics and those retarded shit faces called fans of the original didnt liked(WELL)just because its PG13 doesnt means its a bad movie like prom night you people just hated it from the beggining because it was PG13 so if you didnt like it go watch the unrated version its better.
As good as the original but not so scary but even with that this film managed to avoid the classic PG13 crap and had its violent scenes so im very cool with it.
Who farted? Horror remakes continue their streak of faliure with this turd-burglar. Tom Welling proves he can't find range past Smallville, and the director proves he, well, doesn't know how to direct. I hated this at about the three-minute mark and it only got worse. Proof that CGI is no substitute for guys in makeup. I would rather clean a public restroom than watch this again.
