Poorly executed, which is a shame, since it had the potential to be really good.

The invisible is not really a horror movie flick, more suspenseful but still underrated. This movie is getting so much hate and I wonder why. This was a well-done film that keeps you guessing until the end and actually has a warm heart underneath it all. The story is just perfect. The acting wasn't that great, but oh well. Overall, The invisible is a perfect film to see that keeps you guessing and has a nice heart. A very touching film.
Could have been alot better, sometimes films that have great potential piss me off more than really shitty films because I know with the potential ones they came close to succeeding in doing something good but didnt for whatever reasons.
a pretty average movie experience.
I think this movie gets a bad rap because it's being reviewed on a horror site. Granted I grabbed this movie because it was during a preview on 2008's Day of the Dead DVD, but it not being anything close to horror doesn't mean this film is not a worthy watch. The story is incredibly touching and I know that emotion often makes people feel weak and angry but it makes you feel something and I would say that any movie's goal should be to create a vivid, emotional response.
Perhaps the 'ghost in limbo' has been touched upon by others. Personally I don't think seeing "Ghost" leaves you set to skip Goyer's film. They aren't even comparable. The movie isn't titled The Invisible purely because Nick cannot be seen while he is dying; it runs much deeper as we see relationship parallels and contrasts with Nick and his mom and Annie and her dad.
This movie was tastefully done and took the notion of an impossible scenario and did it well and without too many ridiculous moments. And leaving the scene from trailers out was the right move. There is no place in this movie for other "wise-speaking" ghosts. The method in which Nick finds his situation is handled much better. If audiences need that kind of blatant slap in the face that "You are in limbo and must solve your death," then this is not for them. If they want to see an interesting story about the social struggles and personal relationships with an unorthodox approach, this is a wonderful film.
If you've seen one episode of ghost whisperer or the movie Ghost, then you really don't need to waste your time with this movie. It wasn't terrible but then it was't good. Rent it on dollar day or see it on Starz.
I really enjoyed this movie. The story line was wonderful. Sure its not a horror movie, not even much of a thriller. But still a great movie. The characters were great. The bond between Annie and Nick was a good feeling.
I simply don’t understand the critics. They trash movies like this that actually try to be different and hail hopeless clichés like I Am Legend and Sweeney Todd.
I love this movie because it isn’t the same old ghost story you’ve come to memorize by now. Unlike the half-retarded cliché disguised as a ghost flick also known as The Orphanage, which critics loved, this movie broke rules. It didn’t make sense, but that’s what made it good. The characters were memorable, unlike the characters in The Orphanage that are so cliché they now have their own genres: Apathetic Dad, Angry Mama Bear Mom, Innocent Child That Can Do No Wrong. The Invisible doesn’t use any of these clichés. It makes its own rules and then breaks its own rules. The ghosts don’t revert to the same old jump-at-you-AHHH!!! tactics that we’ve all seen countless times. They actually try to be more disturbing than that, by being more realistic and not scary.
Yes, this movie could be labeled as “tickle me emo”, but if you get over the fact it’s not made up of Spartan soldiers you’ll see this movie has a lot to say.
It’s not perfect by any means. I could sit here and name countless technical flaws with the presentation (like the opening scene), but they’re lost to the fact that this movie tried to be different. I’m so stunned that something actually tried to be different anything else ad about the movie fell away.
7.5/10.
