this movie is so funny it totally ruined chuckey but it was still good
i said that 'Child's Play 3' was bad and because 'Bride of Chucky' ended with Tiffany impregnated, i thought that 'Seed of Chucky' was gonna suck, and for some reason, it was AS good as 'Bride'.
the violence was grosse and graphic and it really picks up where 3 left off.
i hear that there's gonna be a darker remake of the original 'Child's Play', and i hope it's good.
After the rather horrible Child's Play 3, I saw this next. I wasn't expecting much, but actually, this is a pretty damn cool movie. I thing, what done it for me, was the fresh idea's. What I saw in Child's Play 3was over - used idea's, but in this, the whole thing was a fresh start for the Chucky movies. Despite some acting issues, this is a great horror movie. Filled with dark humour, which is actually funny, a great plot and some wonderful, gory scenes, this is a full throw horror, with everything you need! I really enjoyed watching this, it's a fun movie, which most horror's don't do, and it leaves you wanting more, and more, and more! Chucky is great here, his "new face" looks really good, the special effects are great and some of the deaths are just pure wicked! A highly praised movie from me!
I hate it when people say "Oh it wasn't scary it was a bad movie". NO DUH IT WASN'T SCARY! IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE! It was just a fun, funny, and entertaining movie to watch with some friends! If you think they ruined the name of the original Child's Play films, then you're right. But get over it! This is completely different! Enjoy what you got; the scary films AND the funny ones.
seed of chucky was surprisingly a pretty good movie. it was funny, it was bloody, and it was all chucky. i enjoyed my time while watching this movie. definitely a rental so if you have the time and you dont really want a chucky movie that will scare the hell out of you like the original childs play, check this movie out.
Not quite the brilliant mesh of comedic horror that Bride of Chucky is, but Seed is still a fun movie with some great ideas and cool death sequences.
I don't get people who don't enjoy this genre. How can you not laugh at what you love? If we took horror movies seriously all the time then they'd all feel tired and cliche. We need to have films like this to break up the monotony. I mean, let's be honest here: the horror genre really can be a joke; (how else do you explain 8 Hellraisers, 10 Halloweens, 7 Saws, and 8 Nightmares on Elm Street?) it gets a little ridiculous at times. Plus, Chucky's a freaking doll that was possessed by a serial killer; isn't that a little ludicrous in it of itself? Not to mention, he's always had a bit of an attitude and a witty personality. Comedy doesn't seem like too far of a stretch.
Enough venting for now. Don Mancini has written all five Chucky films and it shows. The lunacy is still present; take a look at Glenn/Glenda for example. Total crazy character and in the last ten-fifteen minutes he/she really shines with an awesome performance. By this point, he/she has clearly gone completely mad as a result of the confusion his/her androgyny and dysfunctional parents has caused.
The only thing I could've gone without were all the green screens and occasional awkward CG effects. Though I appreciate them keeping it as old school as possible in this day and age.
Stoked for the remake, assuming it's actually being made. Sheesh.
Is this a horror website with horror fans or some lame joke. This is a comedy nothing more and alot less. They took a an awesome franchise and then shit all over it. Hey maybe we should get jason to tell knock knock jokes in the sequel or make some poor excuse of a sexual reference about him wearing protection cause eh ahs a hockey mask. The only thing worse that this steaming pile of puke was bride of chucky. BD smarten the fukc up ur reviews seem based on smoking crack then wacthing the movie probably with the director.
lol oh well I enjoyed it.It was hilarious! and I love some Jennifer Tilly! It's always exciting to c chucky back even though it wasn't as good as the first 2 or Bride its fun to watch especially if you are wanting a laugh!
If u want to watch a bloody comedy this is the movie for you, but if your looking for the mood in the first 4 movies you might want to stay away from this movie. I liked the movie, but the only problem I had was how much of F@#$ing punk Chucky's son is . It killed me how much of a wuss he was and then that god awful accent. I mean I expected a smaller, crazier little Chucky JR., instead we got a gay ass care bear, disappointing. Chucky needs to ride SOLO again, he works better alone.

This fifth installment gets a 5/10. This was better than part 3. But that doesn't say much.
Im am a HUGE horror fan and i seen all the chuckys and this one is ok its not scary but funny at the same time but if its going to be a horror film at least make it scary im mean cum on in all the other chucky films they were scary and killing in the scary way and in this movie it wasnt even scary at all. At first i was exstatic about seeing Seed of Chucky but when i seen it i was dissapointed in the movie and i would say there is alot of people who defintly agreeing with me rite now on this movie. Man Shaun of the Dead is more scary than this and thats a remake of Dawn Of the Dead. So whoever is reading this and who ever made it get a different job please, cuz you suck!
Is this really a horror movie? It seems a dark comedy for me. Still, it is fun as hell and it's nice to see actors play parodies of themselves. As a horror movie I'd give it one skull, but my ratings are always overall experience. So see above for the comedy rating.
This movie was pure rubbish. I wouldn't even call this horror as there was just way too much 'cough' comedy. The Child's Play franchise is fantastic including Bride Of Chucky but this is a disgrace. After this travesty would love to see the franchise return to what it was with the first three films.
Gotta love this movie i thought it was funny and some parts scary too that's how most scary movies should be but not all of them.

Jennifer Tilly, Wow, Shes Amazing.
And i think its amazing how she plays both parts, so well. Shes inspired me to do one of her monlouges from bound. My whole drama project is on her. But This movie wasnt that scary, it was overall funny. But i still enjoyed it very much so. i thought it was really cool and very comforting. i would suggest it, :)
How awesome is Jennifer Tilly?? Well I am about to tell you.
Mocking her own celebrity self, persona, and lifestyle while at the same time doing the voice over for Tiffany, the killer wife doll of Chucky; Jennifer Tilly marches through "Seed of Chucky" headstrong, confident, and absolutely hilarious.
Jennifer turns "Seed of Chucky" into one hell of a parody and a good time. How refreshing to see such a talented actress take on a role that she is clearly having fun with, and not taking herself or her career so damn seriously; like most other actresses out there are doing these days.
Its a wonderful and wise choice of Jennifer-and "Seed of Chucky" will no doubt reach cult status in time to come.
This movie has great cameos from Redman and especially John Waters as a crazed papparazzi photographer. The script is absolutely hilarious. The acting is also great as well. Visuals, and gore are also all there--in one nicely wrapped up package.
Check this movie out is all I can say. It's a great twist on the Chucky genre and the best of the series since Part 1. I hesitated to watch this movie out of fear that it would just be too dumb. On the contrary, the movie proved to be quite smart and more intelligent than I thought possible.
There is so much going on in "Seed of Chucky" that I dare not try to summarize the plot in this review.
Just go get it...and have yourself some fun! Highly Recommended!

weakest of the chucky films shows that too much comedy in a horror movie isnt always great, the child idea wasnt bad, but the voice of glen and the character himself is kinda silly. this film has you begging to bring me the old style of the first three.
After 4 Chucky films Chucky's back. Honestly if you were a fan of Child's play and disliked the sequels than Seed of Chucky really isn't your film. I admit the film had its moments of humor and I liked that the killer doll returned, but when you see this movie it's like it falls flat. Child's play was a fantastic film because it was scary and first introduced you to this killer doll. After that the films weren't scary and the jokes weren't that funny. I admit it's not terrible and is actually okay but it wasn't what I was looking for.
I wanted to like this, but for some reason I just wasn't feeling the old magic. The jokes fall kind of flat, and the whole thing seems to be a little too concerned with making 'clever' Hollywood jokes rather than telling a good story. Brad Dourif is still awesome, so I'll still own it; but this is my least favorite of the series.
