Mrmcd666 gets this one completely correct. The one and only Zombie film (so far- I never give up on any artist) that can actually be enjoyed by anyone with a reasonable taste in films (joking, Zombie-lovers). I like, no LOVE, this movie, because Zombie ACTUALLY does something original. And does it quite well.
Awesome movie. This is not a sequel but a spin off and if you expect it to be like house of 1000 corpses you will be dissapointed and you shouldn't instead expect a more original story than the first. Free bird is always awesome to include in a movie.

Fantastic movie. I haven't seen the first one but I loved the characters in this sequel. And the killings were excellent. Much more believable than most gore movies.
I enjoyed this film a lot more than its predecessor, because it seemed like Rob took his time with this film, while House of 1000 Corpses felt rushed and it was too much like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but he made an original film about wackos on the run. I can easily recommend this film to all my fellow infected peers.

This was a good movie... loved the story line... amazing kills... and well all out amazing
Love this movie, Rob Zombie turned a cop into one crazy ass mother fucker. Plus listening to "Free Bird" while people are getting shoot to hell is cool as hell

yeah when i first watched the devils rejects i was not really into the movie ..then i started watching it again and again and in was thinking this movie is fucking sick i fell in love with the characthers and the story which was good..this is rob zombie's best work so far and i really enjoyed watching this movie all the time

This definitely is one great movie! Quite better that house of 1000 corps
intense and fantastic the kills are amazing and disturbing sherri moon was just out of this world good deffinetely a step up from house of 1000 amazing amazing movie cannot recommend enough go watch now
The Devil's Rejects is just plain wrong. Ont worth watching because you're not really watching anything except for a couple of rednecks being rednecks with a hint of a murderous obsession.
This movie is so pointless, I could imagine Zombie saying, "Okay, just do something that will make yo momma hate you if she saw you right now." while shooting this film. What a waste of time.
Love it! Rob Zombie knows how to make movies! I will be watching every film that he makes.

an amazing visionary look into the psychobilly mind. rob zombie does a great jbo on this film.
a very gritty and raw film.
scary and definitely enjoyable.
zombies second film and so far his best film to date.
Can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet. It's already a horror classic in my eyes. Rob Zombie's best. Pure gritty pulp exploitation throwback, and a great sequel!
AWSOME!!! people critisized RZ for H1000C, because they didnt understand it. Then he came out w/ the sequal and filmed it more like a "typical movie" and stilled kicked ass! great movie the ending is phenominal, greatly done, filmed, and put together.
One of my favorite horror movies ever made... The perfect completion to a wonderful ride. This movie is everything in a horror in one... Its sick, orginal, surperbly acted, and masterfully put together.. This is the a PERFECT MOVIE IMO... Zombie is goin to be huge for horror in the years to come...
This plus H1000C shows you that Rob Zombie knows WHAT THE FUCK HE IS DOING. Who can take a prequel, make you hate and be utterly disgusted with the villians, only to turn it around and have to cheering for them in the sequel???? 10/10 this movie ranks right up there with the best of them. As someone said below me, it makes you feel DIRTY watching it. A great flick.
Now Hollywood is a happy place, they come out with movies with happy endings and sweet, cut away, horror movies, THAT ARE F***ING PG-13 GOD DAMMIT, and they have love stories and that basic little expected twist to make the audience feel good. Then The Devil's Rejects comes along and f***s all of that up.
I watched this movie without alot of hype, the way I like it, and loving the first one wanting it to be a good movie, but back when I saw it I was like 12 or 13 so anything is good if violent lol. But anyways this movie relly kicks ass, right in the ass. Is it as f***ed as older movies were? No, but it comes pretty close, this movie has a pretty disturbing hard to watch rape scene-ish scene in it, and the hotel room is just so perfect........You gotta give this movie props for makin it to theaters. They don't normally release mvies with non-happy endings and sh** like that, but here they do and among some others.
Watch this movie if you want a good fun horror movie with some awesome characters in it. ESPECIALLY TINY WHO MADE ME, literally, F***ING CLAP AT THE END OF THIS MOVIE. 9/10!
Rob Does it again. This is way better than H1000C(house is still great though) its everything a horror movie should be shocking, disturbing, and so bad ass you cheer when everything unravels. A work of genious. A must own for true horror fans
BALLS OUT........Makes ya feel dirty just watching it!!!! Pure Genius to say the least. If you haven't seen it yet hurry and get a copy and start the festivities!!!! You won't be disappointed. Not for the faint hearted!!!!
this is my favorite horror movie of all time....even though my FAVORITE movies are zombie movies, this easily takes the WHOLE fuckin cake. a masterpiece
I love the soundtrack to this movie. Plus, Otis is a complete bad-ass and Sheri Moon Zombie is gorgeous as always. completely different than and much better than house of 1,000 corpses.
Cool. This was even better than the first. From the opening scene you know the film is going to be gorey, and filled with black comedy which fully fits in, with these characters. WHat i love is how the whole film has this old time feel about it, and you loose your mind while watching for almost 2 hours. I really love how Rob Zombie has made a sequel that noy only delivers, but really proves that sequels can overrun their preceeders.
The plot was really well written, and the dialogue in the film was so smart for the characters, and really it felt like walking back to "House Of 1000 Corpse". The plot was yes simple, but with only a few settings, the dialogue really had to make the movie enjoyable, and being a sadistic family it really was fun to watch.
The acting was pretty good and "Sheri Moon Zombie" having a fun role. The acting was believable, and really entertaining to watch the actors giving their own touch to their role.
Overall "The Devils Rejects" runs over it preceeder, and is one of few genre films that has added hymour which fits right in. My rating is 3.5/5
I thought was does Rob Zombie have to throw it in your face?.....because this is awful movie....I am glad I saw it on comcast and didn;t rent it waste of money.....I like horror films but this one was crap.....then ending give me a brake the song free bird was good but slow motion ending nope this movie sucks.
I do not claim to be a pro in the world of horror films but as a rookie i am starting to really fall in love with the genre. I owe this to Rob Zombies "Devils Rejects". I had not really heard much about the Devils Rejects but i much prefer to watch a film with an open mind and rather than being pre pumped full of critical ideas and opinions.
What really amazes me about this film is firstly the quality of the acting and secondly the whole look and setting of the movie. Its hard to imagine any member of the devils reject gang being played by anyone else and Forsythes take on the hard and gritty Sheriff John Wydell is nothing short of epic.
Rob Zombies direction is brilliant and he goes to the very edge of creation to build a world to immerse us in, this is particularly impressive on a $5 million budget.
Devils Rejects has a great re-watch value and is just as enjoyable to watch every time. One thing to mention is the more i watch this the more i feel it sways more to an dark action flick rather than a horror film. This is due to it being a truelly different kind of horror film without the generic slow music and creepy floor boards.
Just Brilliant.
After i left the theater i felt dirty like i just watched something i wasnt supposed to see. This is an instant classic a must for any horror movie fan.

I adore this movie. Plain and simple. It is one of those films where I absolutely loved the villains to no end that it was actually sad for me to watch them slowly go down in flames. But despite that, I loved every minute of it. Zombie did a great job with this film and how he slowly manipulates the characters until you realize that the good guys are no different from the bad. In the end the is no line separating each from each other and that is another reason why it is such an engrossing film. Honestly I think that this is a perfect companion piece to House of 1000 Corpses because it presents the viewer with so much more depth to the Firefly family. Mind you it is not really a horror movie but that should not stop you because it is still plenty bloody. All in all, top-notch.

this movie is kickass. the ending is my favorite part. Rob Zombie for sure has a way with putting just the right music into his movies. Same with Halloween and House of 1000 corpses. Any one know when the Haunted world of el superbeasto is finally being released?
Let it be known that 9 out of 10 times i HATE new horror films. (I dont consider this a horror movie, but whatever) But Rob Zombie has yet to dissapoint me. Great Flick.

Very good movie. I enjoyed it much more than the first one (1,000 Corpses), the same way enjoyed Hostel 2 more than the first. I LOVED the cop. He definitely was the highlight of the movie. Crazy, ass-kicking good (urm, goodish?) guy. I was really hoping they would keep him around for more of the movie. 7/10 without the cop, 9/10 with. Almost a masterpiece.

Rob zombie did a excellent job on this film. It is a masterpiece. The characters were awesome, Captain spaulding was my favorite by far. The character development was extremely good and the movie made you go for the villians rather than the heroes. I was so relieved when that cop finally died, he was a pain in the ass! The dialogue was hilarious, I found myself bursting out laughing at times. I love it when horror movies have a bit of dark humor here and there. It makes the movie more enjoyable. This movie really made you have a stronger connection with the villians, and you felt angry or tense when they were in danger.
The violence was really good, there wasn't a huge amount of it, but it still had it's brutal moments. The torture scenes were sick and sadistic and totally wicked. It had a few scenes of sexual torture that were disturbing. I thought that it made the whole movie alot better without heaps and heaps of gore, the torture scenes were brutal at times but not as gory or sick as scenes from saw or hostel. So credit goes to rob for not making a full on gore fest.
The storyline was great, it picked up straight from the house of 1000 corpses. The ending was awesome but sad, it was a great way to end the movie though. There was lots of times when I thought the movie was about to end and then it cuts to another scene. So that was cool, the ending caught me off guard and made the movie so much better.
Overall the devils rejects was a kick ass movie. Much better then rob's disgusting, mutilated unholy hell spawn remake of halloween which was average and dull. House of 1000 corpses was good but no where near as good as the devils rejects. I give this movie a 8.5/10
Posted By: gorehound62 at 6:33pm, January 23, 2009
i give rob zombie alot of flack that i think the man deserves. halloween was an abomination. 1000 corpses was more like an acid trip than a movie, but this on the other hand.... i am a huge fan of exploitation movies, so this is my kind of thing. if zombie stuck to this, and not remakes, and music video style flicks, i would have no problem with him. personally, i thought william forsythe should have been nominated for an oscar for his character. for the two hour run time, i didnt hate rob zombie.
I was really, REALLY surprised by this movie. For the most part I didn't care for House of 1000 Corpses, and Rob Zombie's directing style normally makes me want to nerd-rage to the extreme. I'm not even sure what possessed me to watch The Devil's Rejects to be honest, lol. But I'm glad I did. It's actually one of the most straight-up entertaining and satisfying horror movies I've seen in a long time. Good sadistic fun from start to finish! :)
This was awful. House of 1000 Corpses was awful. As far as directing decent horror movies goes, Rob Zombie is like a retarded child on a tricycle with a broken wheel, pedalling furiously. Rob, Texas Chain Saw Massacre already exists, so fuck off with trying to make half assed shitty rip offs of it. Thanks.
Posted By: fantasmagora6 at 3:35pm, January 14, 2009
amazing fucking movie and my favorite horror flick...all the characters as sadistic as alwys and the skinned face mask on the girlfriend....CLASSIC...kudos to this film and to Rob Zombie.
Posted By: BK's Finest at 7:47pm, December 24, 2008
Dissapointing gorefest that that isn't even half as good as the first. How can you expect me to feel bad for characters that have absolutely no redeeming qualitys?Oh,and way to ruin freebird Rob...Good one.

Deranged, unsettling, disturbing, immoral are just some of the thousands of words that could be used to describe this movie. This is one of the most terrible films I have ever seen, but I mean that in a good way. This is a solid movie that does not hold anything back. While watching this movie you may begin to feel like a bad person and that you just want to go take a shower to rid yourself of the filthy feeling you get when watching The Devils Rejects. No matter how gross and disturbing, this film is Supposed to be this way, it raises several moral questions and feelings inside yourself that you have probably never felt before. This movie will truly help you appreciate the goodness in most people and understand what may be going through the minds and reasoning behind the eyes of the corrupt, which makes this an absolute MASTERPIECE

Great, great and great!
First of all, and strangely as it may seem since it's a very recent one, this movie carries a somewhat close resemblance to one of my favorite movies of all time, the 1974 Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Less raw, but you can't expect anything else from today's movies, really.
Second, this sequel is actually better then its predecessor (and the ones that are familiar with my movie tastes know that I usually NEVER say this), since the House of a Thousand Corpses had a very exaggerated phantasized ending, IMO.
Third, the soundtrack is simply amazing and very well suited for this kind of movies, which is not as easy to pull off as it may seem.
Fourth, the way the family is portrayed in the movie. Breathtaking. Psycho killer tendencies vs. strict familiar ties and values. Gotta love it.
And last but not least... Sheri Moon Zombie! Wow. I mean WOW! Though she had already made my knees tremble in the first one.
Watch it, you'll know what I mean.
If you watch it and still fail to see all i just wrote in here... then stay the hell away from my profile!
This movie is absolutely fantastic. I remember taking my girlfriend, friend and his girlfriend to this when it came out. My friend's girlfriend was absolutely appalled by the movie and if you knew her you'd know right then how great this movie is. The rest of us loved it. Bought it on dvd the day it came out and still love to watch this. With Rob Zombie you cannot go wrong.
This movie was great a good compliment to House of 1000 Corpses, even though they r two totally diff movies. The acting , directing and music were top notch and whats with the people saying that there is no plot [waht the f***] they must stop watchin movies period, its obvious what the plot is!!!!!!!!!
Posted By: SeeScottSpaz at 1:40pm, October 28, 2008
This movie was beautiful. I know with the content it doesn't seem so, but the music, the charachters, the directing, and the effects made it into a masterpeice. It's completely different from it's predecessor. But they're both amazing films.

One of the best movies I have ever seen. F-ing awesome. Captin Spalding is the bomb and baby is the finest woman ever to inhabit the planet.
I normally hate torture movies because they try to rely on gore. Every time I watch one, I'm disappointed because I can come up with more creative torture. This movie however relies on character evolution and what better characters to evolve with are there? Every member of the Firefly Family is pure brilliance played by the best actors that get ignored by big budget movies. Captain Spaulding alone should be on the top 10 list of any best movie character list and it's a shame that actors like Sid Haig and Bill Mosely get passed up for Oscar nods because they're in an unrespected genre. This is what every torture movie should strive to be. Thank you Rob Zombie for giving me such an inspired movie. Thank you.
Just finished watching this film. Really, really friggin' good. Sir Zombie did fantastic. The story line I loved, the acting great, music was awesome, and the characters were just plain awesome. Not as gory as I wanted it to be, but still really nice. This is a brilliant movie and is totally worth the watch. 100% recommended to Rob Zombie fans.

I loved this film and those who think Zombie doesnt have any talent obvisously dont know what the hell a good movie is and should just go watch movie that are just like all the others and shut the fuck up.
Posted By: Stupid-Eyed at 12:53pm, October 12, 2008
One of my favorites. At first I didn't want to watch it but once I did it turned out to be totally worth it.
I really have no idea what I honestly thought about The Devil’s Rejects. Half of me thinks it was genius, the other half—probably my more truthful side—thinks it was just another lame movie without a plot. But maybe it’s both. Personally, I’ve always liked Rob Zombie’s gritty style because no one else in the movie industry today seems to be able to be able to do true grit without true cheese. I wasn’t impressed with Halloween, and I’ve never seen House of 1000 Corpses, but I’m pretty sure The Devil’s Rejects is his best work, and it is a good movie. But at the same time it isn’t.
The good—
Tell me honestly, when was the last time you remembered the first name of a character in a movie, much less their “personality” (which usually consists of just being a mouth to spout pointless dialogue)? Being honest, I can’t remember the name of the main character of the last movie I watched two days ago. In The Devil’s Rejects, however, the characters are truly memorable. Every actor working in the movie plays their character realistically and gives him/her, well . . . character. None of them are stupid, and none of them are a cliché.
The shootout in the beginning of the film is simply breathtaking. Why can’t half the shootouts in movies be that good? People complain this movie had no buildup, but what is wrong with that? At this age of cinema, we already know how movies like this end—buildup just bores us. This isn’t Alien—where the suspense was essential—this is a gritty horror movie that can deliver punches without the hour of pointless dialogue and suspense. Adding suspense to something like this is like trying to characterize a cliché character—it’s unnecessary and just silly. I’m glad Rob Zombie gets that, because it seems like no one else industry does. There was not a word of dialogue spoken that didn’t have some significance to the overall effect, and that is something that truly needs to be praised.
Technical details, like the soundtrack and the directing, are all stellar. Once again, it’s been a long time I’ve seen music used right in a film. None of that boring classical crap that just makes me laugh. I mean, someone’s getting their tongue cut and Bach is blaring in the background. I just find that retarded. Zombie, however, understands how to choose music that fits the mood of the scene, thank God.
The bad—
The huge, glairing problem that keeps me from writing a positive review of this film is there is no plot. It’s sad to see such an amazingly done movie just dull because there is literally NO plot. You just watch The Devil’s Rejects (the characters, not the movie) run from place to place and that is really it. Nothing happens. Yes, the characters are amazing, the music rules, and the action is excellent—NOTHING happens. I wanted so bad to really like this movie, but that fact killed the entire movie for me.
The gore really is nothing special. Everyone is talking about how brutal and sick this movie is, but, sorry, it isn’t that graphic or extreme. At all. It earns its R-rating, unlike the majority of films, but calling it hardcore gore isn’t exactly true. The gore takes up maybe 10 minutes of the screen time, and that’s all. When it happens there is zero intensity, and zero brutality. The gore is pretty generic.
Overall: this is a horror movie that really deserves to be watched. It’s so much better than most of the crap out there, even though I really wasn’t that impressed with it. It is not a rip-off of anything. It’s just a well-made movie without great characters . . . and no plot.
I think Rob Zombie is an amazing director and his movies are just crazy. House of 1000 Corpses was a great classic horror movie and when Devils Rejects came out my jaw dropped. His characters in this movie are so different from house, not in their sadistic nature but they are not as flashy. I like the fact that the film is darker cause the flashiness of house just wouldnt have worked in this film. Zombie knows how to make a horror movie and I cant wait to see what he does in the future. Halloween was amazing also.
Posted By: Protecious at 3:38pm, September 30, 2008
more realistic and horrifying than zombie's house of 1,000 corpses, i still prefer the 1,000 corpses one over this because i like films with comedy in it, even if it's horror, and this movie takes itself very very seriously, which depending on the taste of the person, is good or bad.
this was agreat compement to the first movie i am with sixxchik their was not enough gore by a long shot. My favorite thing about this movie was that finally the psychos are the ones being torchered, i have been waiting for a movie like this for a long time. overall it was amazing i can't wait for rob's next movie.
ok so i really liked this movie and i absolutely love rob zombie but i do have one complaint.
its not gorey enough, house of 1000 corpses taxidermies a guy, skins a guy, scalps a guy. you dont really see much in this movie i always heard it was extremely gorey but beggers cant be choosers and over all i loved this movie, the effects, the music, & the look was amazing.
Posted By: stevodragisic at 10:12am, September 1, 2008
genius. makes house of 100 corpses look like a different writer. bill moseley is brilliant. truely disturbing.
I can't believe what I'm reading! This is a true masterpiece, by far the best "new breed" of horror for a new genre. I'm tired of hearing "Rob Zombie stole....". He simply borrowed some O.K. bits and intensifyed to a different story. What genious work to make you hate the family in House of a 1000 corpses just to make you change your mind about them in Devils Rejects, And what an ending as well. Long live Cpt. Spaulding, Otis, Baby, Tiny, and the rest of the Firefly Gang. I cant wait to catch up with and re-new myself with some of the Characters in El Superbeasto and Tyranasourus Rex. What Rob Zombie is creating with his movies is a big risk, There not always goin to be sequels but will keep you familier with the ones hes' already created, keep in mind, this has not been attempted by another director. I was very pleased to read about Spauling and Otis in El Superbeasto. Just keep there insanity reigning in future movies Rob
Now I'm not a huge fan of Rob Zombie's work, I found 'House of 1000 Corpses' to be mostly boring and judging on its very interesting premise, strange lacking, and 'Halloween' to be a decent remake that goes from depressing and 3-dimensional to a standard 2D slasher. 'The Devil's Rejects', on the other hand, it's a very good film - it's the film that showcases Zombie's directorial talents more than any other one of his films - has the best acting and writing of all, and even though I don't consider it a horror film at all, it's very depraved, sick, disgusting, brutal and gory.
And to think if it wasn't for House of 1000 Corpses we would never of had this amazing movie!! From the opening scene to the closing Rejects keeps you on the edge of your seat. I loved the way the carictors worked off eachother it was great, the dialog was sharp and fast leaving us with some of the best movie quotes ever!!! I loved this movie and will never get tired of watching... Rob Zombie redeemed himself with this one for sure; too bad he had to go and butcher Halloween!!! I give THE DEVILS REJECTS 10 Faceless Husbands in the Desert out of 10 Faceless Husbands in the Desert!!!
Now, I will selfishly admit that besides "bits and pieces" (a term which so appropriately applies to movies of this sort), I hadn't seen the predecessor to "The Devil's Rejects" ("House of 1,000 Corpses") previously. There just wasn't a lure to it. It advertised itself as a half-hearted "Texas Chainsaw" rip-off.
Well, I'd say "The Devil's Rejects" is the closest thing to a modern "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" we've received. It's characters are glorious in their vileness and despicability. The violence and gore is nothing short of desensitizing. Last but not least, this is Rob Zombie's finest hour (thus far) behind the camera and the horror film he was meant to make.
Zombies trademarks work for "The Devil's Rejects" as it truly raises the film to the vulgar, shocking experience that it is. Perhaps this is what audiences felt in the 70s when watching TCM for the first time? There is a constant sense of unease in the film, and its tone, which is almost joyous in its violence and existence, is what really will disturb audiences.
"The Devil's Rejects" is violent, unforgiving, and wickedly satirical; it is without a doubt Zombie's trademark film.
Certainly better than House of 1000 Corpses, but that doesn’t mean it’s good. Shock and gore to the max without really building anything up. Not building anything up means that you have nothing to knock down. I couldn’t help but laugh during the final shoot out. When “Free Bird” starts playing and the film turns into a bad all-slow-motion music video better suited for ripping on by Beavis and Butthead, I couldn’t hold back any more. “Hey, Beavis…we should like, get some guns, and like go on a killing spree and stuff…That would be cool…Huh,huh, huh.”
What am I missing here? I must be the only person to hate this film...
I've seen shed loads of horror films. My favorites are Dawn Of The Dead/[REC]/Henry Portrait of a serial killer/Ring and The Thing. I could go on. This film reminded me of the beginning of From Dusk Till Dawn, which is a good film. But this film stole a lot from other horror films, which is fine. The directing is excellent but I personally found it boring. I was waiting for a great story but all I got was unlikeable characters, throwing their weight around, being so over the top deliberately, which has been done over and over and it's boring. The was no originality in this film. I think it was like charles manson on a day out too much sugar in his system.
It was weak, and like most of zombies music, the production was weak too. It tried too hard to be original and comical, but just didn't deliver.
Firefly really annoyed me so much as a character al i wanted to do was smash her face in.
The ending was real bad too, like Bonnie and Clyde meets Thelma and Louise. I know Zombie has good knowledge of horror, so why doesn't he work on originality. It's boring now and i bet if it hadn't had zombie's name on it people wouldn't rate this film at all
Another great horror movie made by Rob Zombie and his twisted mind. The only thing in this movie that made me mad was it didnt say where Dr. Satan was or anything about him. But this was a good movie and a great way to end it for the Firefly gang.
Greatest.....EVER.
And the Oscar goes to Bill Moseley for his role as Otis Driftwood. The guy was so scary and REAL that he still invades my mind any chance he can!
