I classify this movie under the "stupid fun" category of films. Yes, it is stupid, but there is fun and entertainment to be had here. Much more action packed and faster paced then the original and just simply better than the third film, it's easily the best of the tree. Also, I enjoyed the Nemesis character a lot. A hulking monster with a machine gun AND rocket launcher? How the hell could you not love that?
ok, this movie was excellent. it was more realistic, and it was like out there. i liked how umbrella betrayed the s.t.a.r.s and they had to escape raccon city. also i like that we saw a character from the game, JILL VALENTINE, also nemisis. and again great job to the actors, and again, milla kicked zombie ass!
Some people say that this film is worse than the original. Well, it is. However, some clamer on and on about how this film lower the respectability of the first film, as if this was "Land of the Dead" and the first movie was "Night of the Living Dead".
I admit, I didn't enjoy the first film to any great degree. But there were a scene or two from it that stuck with you as being hints to what could have been a greater film. "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" is rediculous from head to toe and it is so ham-fisted that audiences above the age of 13 should be scratching their heads in disbelief once the credits start rolling.
Although there is a different director this time around, it is obvious that Alexander Witt is simply a tool for Paul W.S. Anderson, who plays puppetmaster in this sequel. Scenes are exaggerated to the extent of which they make no sense, actors are stuck with cliche dialoge we've heard countless times before, and the films "characters" are lacking any development and serve no other purpose than to add another pair of hands to fire off more guns. Oh wait, I forgot, they light a smoke and swear every once in awhile.
Absolute rubbish, i know it's supposed to be like fantasy but most of it was laughable.
I hated Jill's character, the part when she comes in the police station and just shoots zombies made me laugh out loud, and the part where she covers the little girl with a fire blanket when theres a blast i thought " that's just not possible, the blast would knock her off her feet..is she super human now!?"
The acting was terrible and when Alice is introduced with the other group of people in the church just instantly turned her character into a joke. There was SOME good scenes but as a follow up from the first it was just awful
