Renny Harlin isn't a master filmmaker, we have established that, especially after he made a few tirds at the BO. This doesn't prove that theory wrong. "The Beginning" is riddled with flaws throughout, and it relies more on gore to get to you as a viewer, than the terror we all felt in the first Exorcist. At the end of the day, this one won't leave you disappointed, but also not completely satisfied.
the only scene i remember clearly is the cross scene where the girl twists all the way around the cross to look at the main character. that has stuck in my brain as one of the coolest scary movie scenes ever. i guess the rest of the movie wasn't as good though because that one scene washed the rest of it from my memory.
Being the odd man out, I actually liked this movie better than the original Exorcist. I enjoyed the story more although I still found the special effects to be on the campy side. Overall, not bad.
its an ok movie i guess...a good way to get people on the bad side of the exorcist series...

The exorcist: The beginning wasn't good. There was some nice gory scenes but it never was scary and a disgrace to the original. It was better than it's sequels, but it never really went anywhere.

What a ridiculous waste of time! If you haven't seen it, save yourself some time and avoid it.
