Not to big of a fan of the third installment. it was wack compared to the first two but the good thing is they knew when to stop making the movies after they got to this point

This film is what butchered the Scream Franchise.
The 1st and the 2nd were great films. In my opinon they tried too hard to please the viewers. The wholy movie in a movie concept was weird, and I saw no point in the actors who played the original cast in Stab 3, being killed. It was just confusing and a weird take on things. It wasn't interesting or even remotely scary. However, I do recommend you see this film. If you've seen the first 2, it's great to compare.
The movie within the movie concept is further explored here. Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro is in production in Hollywood and murders start happening in and around the sets of this production. Who is the killer this time? Although the films story and setting was really interesting, there is just something missing. Could it be Kevin Williamson's absense? For one thing the gore is toned down, although there is a hugh body count many of the death scenes are not as elaborate as in the first two. There is also more slapstick humor this go around. What was Stab 3 about anyway? After all, this was the first Stab film not to be based actual events. Was it a prequel? On the upside, the big ending revelation ties in the series quite well together and you still feel for these characters to the very end. RIP Scream, at least until Scream 4 hits theaters.
This is what killed off the Scream franchise. The first and second were great, but this is a great dissapointment. From the very begining, you know this is going to suck, big time. The acting is even worse than Scream 2, and everything just doesn't seem right. Scream 3 has some major plot twists, and some major dissapointments. I think that's what made me give it this rather low score, compared to the others. Yes, I loved the deaths, the gore, the unique iconic Scream mask, and some of the scripted lines, but that isn't enough to make it a solid movie. The acting is really bad, I'm not just saying that. The terrible one liner jokes, and some of the stupid set pieces, what the hell were they thinking? I'm not going to say much more, but stay away from this if you loved the first 2, because it's a big bummer.
This one was not my favorite one of the scream movies, it got me bored at some points but i liked it "Liked It" their was some good parts that I loved but it wasn't as good as the 1st one
OK, this is better than the second, but again it still lacks the qualitys of the first! The opening is probably the worst of the three but it is still more enjooyable than number 2. YOu won't guess who the killer is and another twist is added it's a great fun flick. Funner than the second but not as fun as the first!
A bis step down from the first 2, due to Kevin Williamsons absence but still a lot of fun. This is the least bloody of the trilogy but some of the set pieces here, espcially the opening and the house explosion make up for it. There is more comedy in this one thanks to Jenny McCarthy and Parker Posie but thats OK especially as those two girls own every scene they are in, especially Posie. The returning cast members Campbell, cox and Arquette phone in their performances but the return of Randy via a video tape definitely puts a smile on the face. The big reveal at the end is a bit of a stretch but it works, just. Not the explosive third installment it could have been considering the first two are strong efforts but still worth repeated viewings. Bring on Scream 4 !
Obviously the least good of the three, but it is still a fun movie. Parker Posey steals every scene she is in -- too bad she had to die -- could have at least gotten a brutal death. That is the only problem with Scream 3. It isn't bloody at all. It just needed a few creative kills and it could have been much better. And the brother... uh a little too much but I think since I was 10 when it came out, it didn't bug me then and it still doesn't bug me now, lol. Gale could have been a bit more bitchy this time out too, but all in all -- Good!
three is always look at as the worse one but I loved it! I thought it blew 2 away! It had non-stop action and suspense, with lots of interesting and new character's especially Parker Posey's Jennifer who was my favorite character in the trilogy that is still my favorite movies, besides sid, gale, and dewey. It had a bigger budget too with big explosions and more famous faces. The end in the mansion was awesome and so was the night of Jennifer's home being blown up.Plus Jenny Mccarthy's scenes as Sarah Darling is still the funniest part in all three films. The girl is a comic genious! and the beginning of it with killing Cotton Wiery attomatically makes the killer seem more vicious this time around with a character we all love and hate dying first with his new girlfriend.I loved it! Yeah it was a stretch being sid's long lost brother but.... it worked! BRING ON FOUR!!!
