My second or third favorite movie in the franchise. Yeah, I just said that. Just sit back and enjoy the flick as a stand-alone if you need to. There's no need to be such a hard-ass about it being a disgrace to the series. It's got better acting, kills, and effects than most of the other movies in the series.

Even for a Friday film this is cheesy, and boy do I mean cheesy. Probably the best of the slasher movies set in space, though. That's not saying much. It is kind of enjoyable just to laugh at. And I really don't mind the science fiction aspect.
Uber-Jason looks ridiculous, though. The plot is non-existent, too, why is Jason captured in the beginning?
Oh well, it's part 10 of a slasher franchise, obviously it's going to be bad.
the first half of the movie was good cause it was jason as jason. the robo jason sucked from then on there it was the worst. it probably could have been a decent film if they hadn't made him all robotic looking,

Crystal Lake...Good, New York..Ehhh, Space...Damn it what happened? Oh a lazy ass director with zero skills. It had a ton of kills but lacked to much to list. All ingredients were missing to a logical F-13th film here. Uber Jason WTF? Droids fighting Jason WTF?. I was always mad Kane Hodder never played Jason in my favorite Fridays.
i really didnt want to watch this,but had too. i still dont own a copy,an it pisses me off that i av this one missing from the rest. who the fuck had the idea off space,jason pure'ly belongs in the woods and an odd trip to n.y. o.k theres a couple a real good kills in this movie but thats it,i sat throuh to the end,an felt like someone had slaped my face.......HARD! part 4 rules

Jason X was highly entertaining, I'll give it that, but it's insensibility and stupidity is inexcusable for this hodgepodge of a film. If you are looking for a stupid, juvenile picture to be entertained, then by all means this is your film. The film fails in every department from the acting to the deaths, although it is trashy fun. Not the best of the series under any circumstances, but a step up from the tediously paced, inaccurately titled "Jason goes to hell: The final Friday.

This is one of the worst "horror" movies I have ever seen in my entire life. This is one of the lamest, un scary films ever made. A poor mans atempt at a good horror, Jason X is set in space, with a bunch of crummy, low budget actors with terrible acents, and a terrible Jason V. They have killed the series with this trash! There isn't even a good story to it, it's just a low budget flick, with no good scenes in it at all. Do not watch, I beg of you!

A lot of people HATED this movie, but I thought it was pretty decent. I know it doesn't even come close to theh first few Fridays, but it's a pretty solid movie. It has great gore, awesome deaths, and it keeps you in the whole time.

I never liked the idea of Jason being in space but it was kind of fun seeing him on a new playing field. The movie sucked, sure it was shit, but it gave me a fresh fill of Jason's brutality. There were some pretty bad ass death sequences.
Go rent it, watch it with some friends, and have fun.

Most certainly not the worst in the series, nor the best. It is a fun film, if you turn your brain off for the hour and a half and just let the big guy in the hockey mask do his thing.
Better than 5,7,8,and nine in my opinion.This was already #10 what more do you want.The kills were great and the pacing was good never a dull moment.Plus loved the poster.
Yeah, yeah: this movie sucks balls. But it's not without it's merits. I found it enjoyable in a cheeseball sort of way. It was almost more of a parody of slasher films than another sequel.
The real shitty Jason movies are 5 and 8.
The sequence with the halographic Camp Cystal Lake they used to distract Jason alone was worth the price of admission. HI-larious!
I agree with the previous two.It is retarded but in a good way.It's worth watching and DEFINITELY entertaining! Much much better than the previous Jason Goes To Hell!Other than that the weakest but still watch it with a no brainer additude and u will have fun!

I agree that this was definetly not the best of the Friday the 13th movies, but it wasn't that bad. Yes it is retarded, it may even have been pointless, but it did have some good moments.
Being a sci-fi fan, I actually enjoyed this one to a degree. It's a LOT better than part 8 by leaps & bounds. I like it more than Freddy vs. Jason also. The acting in Jason X is WAY better than Freddy vs. Jason. The acting is what made me dislike FvJ. I enjoyed parts of FvJ, but the acting just killed it for me. That's not to say that Jason X is a great film, but I found it better than part8 & FvJ for sure. Not a great flick, but it's worth a look.
I don't have anything against horror/Sci-Fi movies. My favourite movie of all time is a horror/Sci-Fi movie. I'm talking about Alien of course. But what can i say about JASON FUCKING SHITHOLE X. Jason looks ugly unmasked(of course he is ugly but not in that way), he looks ugly before becoming über Jason and Über Jason is just not Jason. Jason in space is what shows us where the friday franchise went. It started to go wrong with zombie Jason and it sank like the Titanic with Über Jason. "In space no one can hear you scream" but they might see you cutting your eyes out watching this movie.

Pathetic. I can see why this film was hesitant from Australian theatres for 4 months. The film is so utterly pointless and really tries to be funny aswell, which really kills the whole franchise. The only good thing about the film is that some of it's death scenes were quite good. This whole franchise was utterly killed when this piece of crap was released. This is one of the worst films in this decade so far, and has got to be the worst movie in the whole franchise.
The plot was stupid, idiodic, and the added humour trying to make the film more entertaining just made the film even worse. Plot holes were everywhere, and a little to obvious. The whole movie was predictable, right from the beginning.
The acting was awful. In this type of flick, you expect5 at least some decency, but no, instead we get this piece of shit cast who looks like they were picked from downtown somewhere. Not moment of decent acting.
Overall "Jason X" is the worst film of the year, and is the most pointless piece of shit ever to be made. My rating is 0.5/5
I don't really consider this part of the 'Friday the 13th' Frachise. The REASON is that after Jason Goes To Hell, we were expecting Freddy vs Jason soon afterwards. Well, New Line was running out of ideas for a Jason sequel, so they figure "LET'S PUT HIM IN SPACE!". So to me, this whole movie just came RIGHT out of New Line's ass. I mean, if the plot, special effects, writing, and everything else in this movie wasn't so FUCKING horrible, this movie would be good. The only good part was the death scene with the girl and the liquid nitrogen. Some people say that the 'sleeping bag' death scene was good too, but Jason did that in Part 7 and the actress IN the sleeping bag actually did the scene; in this one they have a little animitronic thingy that kicks up every few seconds.
And I can't end this review without talking about Jason's mask... oh the mask...
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH IT?!?!?!?! The mask is different. The eye sockets are bent in. The mouthpiece is flat for no fucking reason, you can see it at the nose cuz theres a little arch type thing. It too fucking small! In the scene where Jason gets kicked in the chin by the ugly-ass android, you can see Kane Hodder's chin when he gets kicked!!!
And THEN! Uber Jason has this fuckin' Arabian sword thing that looks NOTHING like a machete.
It just pisses me off. To me, this movie was even worse than Jason Goes To Hell. The death scenes were terrible except for those two that I mentioned earlier. The kill number of this movie is 24, but 2 are accidents and 2 are suicide type things so really, Jason only killed 20. So it's a relatively higher number than any of the other movies except for Freddy Vs. Jason and Jason Goes to Hell, which technically wasn't even JASON the whole movie.
So all in all, see this movie if you want too, but I wouldn't recommend spending a DIME on it. Just watch it on Sci-Fi or some shit.

(I'm pretending that this takes place after FREDDY VS. JASON) Years after Jason won the battle with Freddy, he is caught by the Government. He is about to be frozen, then some stupid Government people come and want to take Jason away for more research. Jason is finally frozen after Rowan shoots him into cryonic chamber. Jason stabs her, freezing her as well. 445 years later, Jason and Rowan are found and taken to a spacecraft with some students aboard. Rowan is helped, and Jason wakes himself up. Soon, a bloody massacre happens. The ships soldiers try to stop him, but they can't. Later, an android named Kay-Em 14 is uploaded and kills Jason. Then, Jason is upgraded by the nanotechnology. Jason looks awesome when this happens!!! One of the students tries to distract Jason by using a simulation of Crystal Lake, but Jason soon realizes, it's a fake. It's an awesome horror/sci fi film and an awesome Jason film. If you love Jason and sci fi movies, you'll love JASON X!!!
Not great but had some cool shit in it. I think it is a movie that many people walk into with expectations and to me I knew what I was getting myself into when I bought it after all it is not part of the original Friday the 13th franchise witch was owned by Paramount Pictures. Its is part of New Line who bought the rights to the Friday the 13th franchise. I still liked it better than Jason Goes To Hell. The movie had a lame premise. The idea of him coming back together with a makeover was sad. But the violence and death was steller and their were a few lauphs. A cheasey movie with a lame plot but it did not completely let me down. I could have done with out the robotic broad though.
It’s sad that Kane Hodder never received a chance to play Jason in any of the good “Friday the 13th” movies. Other than that, I’m speechless about Jason X.
Just flush the toilet on this one and move on to something else.

don't get me wrong i mean i did like the gore like the girl who gets her head dunked in the nitrogen and then gets her head smashed to pieces or the other chick who got sucked out to space and all that's left is some skin and flesh that's caught on a grate or the guy that gets cut into several pieces by Jason Voorhees but other than that i thought it was just over too quickly but aside from that i thought it was a good movie

Pretty shit, but this is its charm. Basically, it's so bad, it's good. Plus, it has one of THE best death scenes ever in my opinion -- face in the liquid nitrogen, then SMASH.

I know that alot of ppl are hatin' on this movie, but in my personal opinion, I though this movie was pretty cool. A different take on Jason. *SPOILER* The best kill was when he was in the woods and these two naked women were in their sleeping bags and "hitting" on Jason, then he just took them trapped in the sleeping bags and just smashes them against the tree like 3 or 4 times. I though that was funny. The acting was ok, I did like that robot girl who lost her head but was still alive and communicating. She was cool. I give this movie 5 stars out of 10. Rent it b4 buying. Just dont expect a great movie, you wont like it if that's what you want.

It had been a LONG 9 years without Jason, and I was so ready for this movie when it finally came out. I remember that I actually had a bootleg DVD of this film over a year before it was released theatrically in the United States, so by the time I saw it in the theatres, I had already had the film memorized. This movie is so incredibly stupid, but fully acknowledges it the entire time. The whole idea was so ridiculous that it was wonderful!
Sadly, this is the final time Kane Hodder would wear the hockey mask.
CHEESY. POINTLESS. BAD ACTING. Better then part 9 though!

a fun jason movie that succeeds iin being a vicious jason movie that only has little flaw in the ubeirjason scenes that shouldnt have been incuded on the poster/dvd cover and been more of a silent surprise that you get in the end.

BY Far the most stupidest idea ever. Good God how stupid could they be I've seen so many sequels screwed up but not this bad. This is easily the worst space movie ever. It's like they really wanted to screw everyone and have an Alien film. I'd rather have Jason as a demon then a Terminator. This film deserves a zero. 0/10 0 out of 5 stars/skulls 0 out of everything it makes the first nine all look epic even part 5/8/Jason goes to hell.
How stupid are they to even make a film like this. It really doesn't even deserve half a skull.

All true Friday fans have to take this with a grain of salt. They tried something new to bring life back to the series, it didn't work the way they expected. but the hype of Jason returning to the big screen did draw a crowd. Also I think due in part to this movie, there was Freddy V Jason, and the new remake in the works, the series nearly died, due to lack of new material and constant parody from other sources.
Personally I didn't hate this movie, but it wasn't the best. It was fun to see Jason on the big screen, since when Jason went to Hell, I was too young to go watch it.
Being a sci-fi fan helps too, It has some decent kills and good makeup, UberJason isn't as cool as he should be but the make-up for his prison escape was pretty nice. Also seeing the med girl get her face frozen and smashed was fun.
I find myself a little ashamed of finding the Android or Cyborg fairly hot from time to time, but once again it's a Sci-fi thing.
Overall I'd say it could have been better, but alot worse too, and we should be happy they aren't trying to make Jason Takes New Earth. That would be bad.
If you're up for a few more kills from everyone's fav. machete weilding psychopath and don't mind some corny Sci-fi topping, check Jason X out.
I was suprised. I bought this movie for 4.99 in a bargain bin; my expectations were low...but it was actually okay. I liked the idea of him in space. And don't worry, he's still Jason and he kills those space peeps like no tommorow. It was a bad movie, of course, but it was fun as hell. I loved the part where they simulated Jason's home, the infamous lake/camp, and the two girls who were taunting him, "Want some alchohol? Or some pot? Or how about premarital sex. We LOVE premarital sex." I was laughing very hard. I loved this movie, and it's good for a few cheap scares and laughs
Yes, it's extremely dumb. But it's so much fun. All the movie really looks like is Jason thrown into the set of one of those crappy tv sci-fi shows like Babylon 5, or whatever the virgins are watching lately (yes, I'm ignorant towards Kevin Sorbo-esque tv).
After a while you get adjusted to the level of bullshit in this movie, but then out of nowhere it's gets even more ridiculous, and the idiocy just snowballs until the very end (where the fuck did that dude fly in from to stop Jason's explosion trajectory?).
But it really is a lot of fun. The violence is definately all there, and some of the kills are really great. It's also really funny, and the crazy part is that the jokes are intentional. A first for F13 movies I think.
Anyways, it's definately not winning any awards, and robo-Jason does look retarded (actually he just looks like Super-Shredder from Ninja Turtles 2), but it's a lot of turn-your-brain-off fun.
