Damn this is a good one...Romero at one of his best..i honestly think aside from Night and Dawn...it's one of his best! Excels so far ahead of what 28 days/weeks tried to achieve
Talking, I hope you like talking, because there is a LOT of it. Even for Romero. The editing on this film is terrible, even for the early 70's. Seems rushed to me for some reason. You can definetly see George's "Dawn style" start to appear here, but the film is far too un-focused to be effective.
I love this movie, its got a lot going on that Night of the Living Dead seems to be a little light on, like Richard "Dr. Logan" Liberty and his on screen daughter. That part and others add a real creepiness to this movie. In my mind, it would have made a fine sequel to Night, but since its zombie-less, i think of it as a sort of spin off. In conclusion, an excellent film Id recomend to any horror fan and a MUST for Romero fans.

A good Enjoyable movie that dosen't have any boring scenes, its fast paced. The people don't turn into zombies but crazy people. The people in the movie are on the run from the military and the crazy people. It's a good movie that should be seen. One of Romeros best films.
Romero does a great job in this film, I enjoyed it and its a lot of fun, but it is not a zombie film, while it may at times feel like you are watching one. It has a few good scares and a decent score. Ive never looked forward to a remake, but because this movie lacks just a bit of excitement and fast pace, I am curious to see how the remake turns out, I am also glad to see Romero has a writing hand in the remake and that Hollywood is not just taking over the title completely.
