Awful movie. I wonder how could Mary Lambert go from directing a good original movie to a downright shit sequel. This movie has good ideas and set pieces but are all executed by someone who clearly doesn't give a fuck how it turns out. Yes, there is more gore and blood but violence and sfx don't make a good movie. A wasted opportunity.
People don't give this movie the credit it deserves. I mean yeah, its not better than the original,BUT its a great sequel. I think they picked a great lead in Edward Furlong, he was in his "hey-day" at the time, still going of his "John Connor" fame. I like that it kept its dark tone from the original. Recommended.
Obviously crappier than the original, but it's really good in the over the top cheesy gross sort of way. Highly recommended for a mindless gory sequel.
