People swear by Silence of the Lambs, cheer at the exploits of Hannibal and love the Red Dragon for Edward Norton - I love them all but, when I saw this movie - which was after SILENCE OF THE LAMBS - I became an instant fan of Thomas Harris -- This movie drew me into the serial killer genre seriously - its an awesome movie - Hannibal herein is not the central figure but The Tooth Fairy and only owe this movie one thing - AWE!!!
A very underrated movie. This is in fact the first movie to feature everyones favorite cannibal, Dr. Hannibal Lector. Although not played by Anthony Hopkins, Brain Cox's Hannibal is still a great character. This movie has since been remade as Red Dragon, but I still prefer this one over that. For a great suspense thriller, I highly recommend checking this movie out.
