it was good and an actor in it has my last name lol
I haven't seen the movie yet but I've read the book and I wasn't overly impressed by it. Usually if I'm not impressed with the book I'm not going to be impressed by the movie either. I think I'll skip this one.
Perretti is usually a great author with creative story lines but this one was pretty bland and predictable.
Perretti's "Monster" or "The Oath" are much better books.

While not bloody or profane "House is still a nice creepy haunted house type movie. The only thing is, it really helps if you have read the book first then see the movie as some of the confusing parts (like the little girl) will make more sense and you HAVE to approach this movie with at least a little bit of a religeous view point in order for the ending to make any kind of sense at all. Ted Dekker is one of the best writers out there since King and Koontz (check out the Circle trilogy "Black," "White," and "Red" very Matrix like) and I thought that this movie was a very nice change from the norm.

This movie failed to keep my interest. I never felt anything for the characters, I actually dis-liked some of them. The ending was confusing...i know its just a movie, but wouldnt the poilice officer, or the paramedics recognize they are talking to people that look identical to the ones dead on the ground. Didnt scare me, the old lady was the creepiest. Glad i watched the movie for free on the internet and didnt spend money on it

I liked this movie. I thought the ending was quite hackneyed but the rest of the movie had a good creepy atmosphere. I am not one for "ghost" movies but this one was pretty cool to say the least.

I have watched this movie and I didn't think it was that bad of a movie. I don't know what you're talking about preachiness...Jesus was never mentioned in the movie. People today who watch horror are all about blood, gore, nudity...if you like that stuff watch Hostel again. Hostel got old fast as I watched it. it wasn't anything new. Just more blood and gore. At least House kept up with the psychological tension.
House is about two couples stranded at a run down bed-n'-breakfast in the backwoods of Alabama. The proprietors of the house are very...er...strange and a killer called The Tin Man is striving to get inside and demands one dead body by dawn or everyone dies.
I thought it was cleverly put together and held its tension all through the movie very well. I also enjoyed the twist ending that was altered from the book. Very well done but a bit too talky...NOT PREACHY...talky.
The film resembled nothing like a Christian movie at all except the bible verse at the beginning and the "Light destroys dark," line thrown in towards the end...and you call that preachy? The Exorcist was more preachy than that! Anyways...I thought that about 98% of the sfx and vfx were great. Much better than the movie Thr3e before this.
The only thing that kept my rating of this movie at a 7 is the editing towards the end. It started getting all "Saw" like editing and it should've paced itself better. Let the actors carry the tension like they have been doing. The acting wasn't great but it was better than other crappy movies I've seen.
Otherwise, House is a psychological mind twist that's ultimatly about facing all the wrong things you've done in your life and facing your fears. More movies should be about that instead of just pointless violence. Like I said, it gets old after a while. That's why Hostel: Part II did so bad...it got old. Same ole', same ole'. House is a bit of flavor that we've been missing from the genre with a little bit of B-movie campiness just for fun.

Produced by Namesake Entertainment, an Evangelical film production company, House is a religious film masquerading as a horror film. Four "sinners" are trapped in a House and must figure a way out. How does one get out? Be a good Christian. The sinners are a young couple who didn't pay enough attention to their young daughter (who drowns as a result.) A woman - who as a child killed the man sexually abusing her. A man - who as a teenager killed his abusive father. I'm not kidding. The film also didn't earn an R-rating (there's no nudity, swearing or graphic violence). This is absolute garbage. Evangelicals always accuse others of hidden agendas, but this is exactly what they're guilty of.
