I thought that this movie was highly entertaining though it was made on a low budget. I'm also a sucker for movies set in places that are isolated from the outside, and especially movie theaters.
The movie theater is having a midnight showing for a movie where the killer in the movie comes alive. Fun but simple plot.
The characters are relatively rational. The killer is fun and the visuals are fine. So if you have watch most mainstream horror movies and you are looking for a decent slasher you should check this out. Still not as good as Popcorn IMO

This slasher didn't do it for me, it had a great idea going for it and nice set pieces for a low rent horror movie but it just wasn't a solid payoff. The acting was weak from all accept from the lead actress Rebekah Brandes who reminded me of Brittany Snow and the kills were bland. The directing was surprisingly efficient and made the film look like a high budget slasher, too bad it wasn't used for a good movie. I didn't like the end either but it probably means there will be a sequel, they better step up their game though if they are going to continue with a sequel. Overall it could have been much better and I was kind of disappointed with it after it was over but it was an ok time killer, just nothing great. Wait for television.
I have to say this movie had awful actors but the rest of it made up for it to me. It was just disturbing and a great thing to watch at Midnight. And it wasn't as bad as most of the reviewers say (IMO) but to each there own.
wow, its amazing how well this movie turned itself around!!! the first half hour was so lame. then i started thinking "id watch that movie" haha, if you can suspend disbelief and forget about elm street, this movie fucking rocks!!!
This was a decent attempt at a supernatural slasher. The movie has alot of flaws but it's title is good time to view it.I caught this one late on cable after a few brews and got into it.The Biker was the best part of the movie. The killers weapon was pretty cool and his mask was unique.Watch with low expectations and you might enjoy it.
very fun and delicious cheap and cheerful cheese.
as others mentioned the biker and his chick were the coolest characters and the killers mask and weapon made my night a bloody rest.
the cult flick they're there to watch is pretty goofy times too, so if you like tasty cheese if you please watch it if not leave this town.
I liked it, it was'nt great, but it had it's moments. I liked the killer alot and i thought the biker was awesome. The movie had some good ideas but it got a little repetative at certain points. If your looking for a cult horror classic this is definitly not it but it was a very cool late night flick
I'm going to be brave here and say this movie wasn't horrible, but definately not great. I liked the idea of the movie a lot, some of the deaths were pretty cool and the biker in the movie really entetained me. Other than the idea of the movie, it's not great, it probably was better off as an idea. The killer had a cool mask and all but the fact that that was all that was good about him ruined it for me. Grant it, it is one of the best "B" horror movies out there and I didn't mind watching it because it still intrigued me. I would say watch it because, even if you don't like it, you're only wasting 82 minutes so what's the harm in it.
the killer was awesome and his weapon it puncturse as it goes in and slices when it goes out and i like the death where he takes the cop leterally when he said " you want her, you're gonna have to go through me " yeahhh
This movie was alright. I liked the concept quite a bit and the use of a cult horror film was nice. The number of questions and lack of answers was troublesome, as mentioned in other reviews, the fact that it is never explained how the killer gained the ability to move from the film to the real world and back again. Its not explained how he got into the mental institute or how the theater got this film. But this film had its moments in its own way paid homage to some of the horror genre greats like Leatherface and Freddy. The killers limp was probably one of the worst elements of the film, it didn't add anything to the killer and at times seemed to be forgotten as he chansed the film watchers around the theater. But worth watching, not great but not terrible.
This movie started off with promise. I like the whole haunted film angle. The killer was unique as was his weapon of choice. However, the killer seemed to operated with no real rules which is OK until you try to wrap things up. I think they had a brain freeze as far as how to end the film so the ending sucked.
Well, I went to Blockbuster to rent The Midnight Meat Train. I saw this sitting right next to it so I picked it up as well. I remember hearing about it several months ago but I wasn't looking forward to it.
I now know why. It wasn't the worst slasher film I've ever seen. Far from it. However, it doesn't bring the originality to the table nor does it take itself seriously enough. The only good part about the film was the detective. He was a pretty good actor considering the movie's context.
Though the gore and blood was nicely done, the kills were very uninspired. Typical torso stabbing and moving on type motion. There were a couple of quick unexpected kills and some that were a bit stylish but not enough to keep one guessing.
The killer himself was interesting though his character was ruined the minute he opened his mouth to speak. If you are going to make a slasher killer talk, make it scary and have a creepy voiced actor to do it. His look was somewhat creepy, but the over all presentation reminded me greatly of Leslie Vernon in Behind the Mask.
Overall, it's a decent rental I suppose if you are just looking for a quick bloody film. I wouldn't go out of the way to rent it though.

OK so it was predictable and it probably won't win an oscar with the acting in it. but it was entertaining and i had fun watching it. the desath scenes where pretty good and i liked the way it ends. i would say it's worth a rent but don't go in expecting something to blow you away.
i thought this movie was going to be good but it was just horrible. it started off really well and the characters were actually interesting. But after the first half hour you realize the movie will suck. The acting was horrible, the way the killer walked was funny and this movie just doesnt work. It had a good story line but it just didn't take advantage. The kills were pretty good but the rest of the movie had me laughing expecially when they all were watching the dark beneath in the movie theater and the drunk girl hit her head on the top and bottom of the indow in the car....the movie they even watched was stupid...save 90 minutes of your life and skip to the credits to hear one of the best songs i heard in awhile.
Ok, I have to say that watching this movie was a total waste of time. When it began, in the hospital, I thought that it was going to be something, but I should have listened to my brother when he said that it was going to suck. And it did! Oh god, it was so... empty. The characters were really boring, as the whole thing. And the killer seemed more like he was just some guy who was paid to kill and didn't want to do that. Come on, Michael Myers??? That's blasphemy. But I have to mention the scene when they found out what was going on and started to run towards the door. Man, that was lame! I just couldn't stop laughing...
I seriously don't understand how anyone could like this film... I honestly felt like i was in a horror film as i sat and watched this film. It was soo fucking boring about 45 minutes into the film i felt like i had been sitting there for hours. The film was not directed well at ALL, The acting was aweful, the story sucked. The gore and special effects were lame. --------I did watch the entire film and the credits were honestly the best part!
---------one part in particular was when the biker was getting a blow job- if you watch you can see her head staying perfectly still in the backround untill the shot focuses on her, lol, can we say horrible acting! come on all she had to do was act like she was sucking a dick! lol how can she fuck that up?---------------------The whole film in a film idea was alright i guess but the idea alone does not save the film from being a complete waste of money, production and rental fees. Leave this film alone, unless you have absolutely nothing else to do. I would rather sit on my toilet and take a nice big dump rather than watch this movie again!-------- I give this movie 1 out of 10 skulls.

This movie was actually pretty sweet. Once again indie films prove that they are fuckin 10 times better then the bullshit hollywood gives up. Once in a while hollywood gives us horror fans something cool but it usally isn't worth the wait. But here is a movie that while is cliche is stil la fuckin cool idea and they pull it off. The killer is pretty rad, that mask is creepy as hell and it's just a fun throw back to the 80's> give it a shot.
Oh man i really enjoyed this. The film looks great. It's well directed and the whole movie-within-a-movie was a real treat. The killer is pretty cool as well, and definitely reminded me of a Michael Myers, Jason, or Leatherface type killer. The film really has the classic slasher vibe going on and is quite effective.
Overall, this is a decent horror film and certainly one of the better DTV slashers I have seen in awhile. Everything about the film looks great and it is always refreshing to see a slasher movie successfully pay homage to early 80's gore films.
Bravo on a job well done.
P.s. the dvd packaging is definitely a collectors item.Worth every penny.
i think this should have been in theaters it would be fun. i thought the movie was original and i have urban legend's 2 and if your talking about the part when there in the movie theater and the girl gets killed on film, well this movie is nothing like that, the bad parts about it was the charters were dumb, and most of them couldn't act but besides that i thought it was a good film
There is already a much better version of this film from Masters of Horror called "Cigarette Burns".
This movie is predictable, formulaic, has terrible acting, and worst of all, is just plain boring. I can keep this review short because there is absolutely nothing remarkable about this film for me to mention. This movie is reminiscent of "Urban Legend 2: Final Cut." I can see why this was passed for a theatrical release...
