A couple of decent scares, but the suspense was very minimal and the cinematography gave the film a very bland and boring look at times. Honestly, at least the remake was good.

Totally awesome. Really scary. It may use the "girl who was picked on and died violently so now her curse lingers on" story but it was one of the first to do it, so I can't rag on it too much.

Definitely better than that craptastic remake. Jesus Christ. Stop with the PG-13 remakes of asian horror films already! They suck wiener.

The elevator scene gets me every time.

The best Asian horror film I have ever seen. It's incredibly well-made, very frightening, has incredible special effects and is surprisingly extremely emotional, a true modern horror masterpiece.

I purchased this DVD a few years back thinking I would get a good scare for my money. In all honesty... I wanted my 9.99 back. VERY minimal scares... The US remake was 10 times better. But this version... DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

When I saw this film the first time in the theater I was the only one sitting in there. It amplified the dark atmosphere of this film so much to be in a large dark theater all alone. This film made me jump and scream and I would dart my eyes around to see if anyone was witness to my embarrassment only find the dark emptiness every time. If anyone ever saw this film in the theaters it has a very genius trick at the very start of the print that has always made people jump out of their seats. It’s a shame they didn’t try to get that effect on the American DVD release, but they did on the DVD I picked up from Hong Kong.
