This New Lollipop Chainsaw Trailer Introduces Us To The Bosses Of Zombie Rock

Published

on

A new femme fatale is entering the ring this June, and her name is Juliet Starling. She’s a badass chainsaw-wielding cheerleader with a fondness for lollipops, and a severed head for a friend. If that isn’t a formula for success, I don’t know what is. Enough about her, let’s shift our attention to the deliciously evil men and women that will stand in her way. Like any good hero, Juliet has a fair share of villains she’ll need to go up against, and I dare say Juliet’s enemies are the wackiest of them all.

We’ve already been given a taste of the dialogue we can expect in this game, and I’m happy to say there’s more of that in this new trailer, which you can find past the break.

Lollipop Chainsaw saws its way to retail shelves on June 12 in the States, 6/13 in Australia, 6/14 in Japan, and 6/15 in Europe, for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
