In case the other reviews haven't tipped you off already, this movie blows chunks. Seriously. This is essentially Con Air meets Lake Dead. So take that for what it's worth.

I liked the first one and thought the seconds one was ten times better, but holy fuck, you really have to go out of your way to make something so damn horrible.

Where to begin? The stereotypes? The dialogue? The acting? The directing? The gore effects? Hard to say, since it's all just diarrhea dripping down your tv screen.

First of all: I feel leaving out the inbred hillbilly family aspect was a mistake. It's all about 3 Finger here. Yeah, a guy who sets up a trap in the middle of nowhere and, conveniently for him, someone walks into it several minutes later. It happens constantly here. What are the odds?

The CGI gore is also a huge distraction. I can't count how many times an axe or a stake went through somebody and what came out the other side was clearly rendered in a studio during post editing. There's some legitimately decent "authentic" effects in the opening scene, but are ultimately ruined by the cookie cutter characters and 3 Finger constantly licking and smelling everything in sight.

The final scene is asinine beyond belief and was clearly added in for the cliche "hey, the killer is still alive" set up that, apparently, some kiddies just have see at the end of every movie they watch.

This may be a minor complaint, but the subtitle is clearly just thrown on to tie in with the video game of the same name. Seriously, no one is "left for dead" in this movie. The cops are looking for them! Grrr... frustrating.

As much as I disliked this steaming pile, I would like to see a fourth film. I don't like the idea of Wrong Turn dying like this. It has to go out in a blaze of glory. Bring Joe Lynch back!

A huge disappointment after the great Part 2. The whole movie was too long, too lengthy. Nearly all actors (good ones and bad ones) were annoying. The script was lame and full of holes. At least some cool killings and a nice little twist at the end but overall a bad DTV-sequel. Please no Part 4, thanx.

This was the worst Wrong Turn and please dont let them make a 4th one! The battles and kills were great but this was n ot very good it was just ok.

You might as well let miley cyrus write and direct a Wrong Turn 4.
The only way to save this franchise is to A: hey Joe Lynch back. B: Get someone to write, that knows how to.
C: Being back many cannibals.
D: Not use cGi; only with the acception of making the corn syrup a thicker color ;)
And E: Have two different inbred clans fight over their food.

Not only are there only two mutants, but the graphics and acting are probably the worst I have seen in a while. I won't even touch on the actually story. The only thing this has going for itself is the slight twist at the end, but goodluck making it there before turning the movie off.

Bad acting, bad graphics, only 2 inbreeds (and he's not as impressive as the ones from the other movies). Had high expectations, since the others were so good. This one deff. let me down.

Look out,it's super inbred! Movie sucked...

In October of 2007, a direct to DVD film rocked my world, and shattered my pre-existing expectations of it. That film was Wrong Turn 2: Dead End. Now, don't get me wrong, I was a fan of the original, but my past experiences with direct to DVD sequels haven't exactly been pleasurable. Hellraiser, and Children Of The Corn comes to mind.

Suffice it to say, my enjoyment of Wrong Turn 2, led me to be kind of stoked for Wrong Turn 3. This is a bad state of mind to go into a film with, as nine times out of 10, you're going to be disappointed.

Wrong Turn 3 tries to combine the character driven story of the original, with the B-movie splattery goodness of the sequel. It fails on both accounts. There are some extremely creative, and fun kills throughout the flick, all of which are ruined by some of the worst CGI I've ever seen in my life. In my opinion, if you're making a gore flick, you better damn well have your effects done as well as your budget will allow. Special effects make or break a film that puts emphasis on the carnage caused by severing the top of someones head. Get it right, it'll be an amazing sequence that genre fans will talk about for decades. Fuck it up, and you'll find yourself in the bargain bin very quickly. My advice would be, work out your budget for special effects FIRST, then design your film around it. The CGI in Wrong Turn 3 are inexcusable, and ruined the film for me all together.

I understand the purpose of Character Development in horror films. It's used as a device to make you care about the characters, and make you care about what happens to them. But if you spend precious minutes of your running time to develop character, at least do a good job at it. Otherwise it's wasted film. I never cared about any of the characters in the film. The dialogue in the intro was so poor, that I was glad to see them get what was coming to them. The dialogue throughout the film was passable, it just never goes anywhere. I understand that there's not really a story to tell here, other than a inbred, mutant, cannibal is killing and eating people in the middle of the woods, but if you waste time writing dialogue for your actors to recite, at least make it believable, and try to have them deliver it in a believable way.

I may sound harsh, but in my opinion, the first 2 films in this series will go down in history ascult classics, and will be popped in genre fans players for decades to come. The film makers had a franchise made of gold to work with here, and could have had a hit on there hands with very little effort. What they've done instead, though, is take that gold, rub shit on it, and tried to pass it off as a gem. Unless you go out of your way to see every film in a series, you can take a pass on Wrong Turn 3, and not miss anything.

Though not as good as part2 but still entertaining enough for a late night viewing with friends. The gore was all over the place and three fingers was entertaining enough.Hope the series continues. Its better than most of the crap that goes on direct to video.

very disappointed with this film.I was really looking foward to this since I loved the first two. Bad acting, plot holes galore, the kills would have been cool except they were executed with such bad fx.

Posted By: Pfdead75 at 6:13pm, October 21, 2009

This was easily the worst of the WT movies. I knew it was bad from the first 5 minutes...the acting was horrible. I guess if you go into this movie not expecting much, you won't be too disapointed. One plus...a couple of the kills were pretty good.

I couldn't find a single thing to enjoy about this movie. Terrible acting (Janet Montgomery is my least favorite horror heroine of all time, after seeing this and The Hills Run Red), the other actors ranged from mediocre to truly terrible, the writing was all over the map (but always horrible) and the cinematography/set design/overall look were just "blah". No one should ever be subjected to this film.

Posted By: Vasquez at 3:52pm, October 21, 2009

Absolute, Horrendous SHIT. The acting is bad, the CGI is terrible, the story is god awful, the characters are impossibly hard to watch without wanting to kill them myself... Stay Clear of this movie with your life and your time. Watching grass grow would be a better use of time i'de say...

Bad fx and actors, not funny, a big shit...

Posted By: Ed Harley at 9:32am, October 21, 2009

I love the 1st Wrong Turn, really like the 2nd and will probably avoid this thing. I had it in my hand at Blockbuster and eventually put it back, Basedo the BD and most user reviews, I think I made the right decision. And it is unfortunate that Fox allowed this douche to make such a crappy sequel to a fun franchise. Honestly I was excited at the prospect of a 3rd Wrong Turn, but when I read the plot summary on the dvd box, I got nervous.I got a really bad feeling. Especially when they are bragging about the fact that the director was responsible for garbage like Cyclops and Rock Monster? Really bad sign.

great movie :) nos as good as the secind one but still one of the best horror of 2009

Posted By: Faminepulse at 7:18am, October 21, 2009

I was completely let down by this movie. I liked the first movie in the wrong turn series. Then was pleasantly surprised by wrong turn 2, which is still one of the best STV horror films out there in my opinion (Rollins FTW). So it's fair to say I went into this movie with slightly high expectations. I wanted a movie that was actually good, what I got was a B movie that had a horrible story with worse CG that was more unintentionally funny than scary.

I'm sure if I knew what I was getting into before watching this then I would have liked it better, but expecting a good movie and getting a laughable bomb was just disappointing. I will probably end up watching this movie at least one more time, if only to laugh at it with friends.

First things first this film franchise is a rip off of The Hills Have Eyes franchise. But that doesnt make it any less fun. This film has awesome kills in it just look at the one at the five minute mark in the movie. I wont spoil it for you but what I will say is that it is a delishous sight to see. This flick is really about excentuating the positives and hiding the negatives. It is a guilty pleasure B movie with shockvalue thrills and kills. I doubt anyone in this flick is going to get a award well maybe a razzie nomination for their acting but hey I new what I was getting from the get go and that is a straight to video sequil to a movie that ripped off its premise from another movie.

Posted By: thalazy at 3:54am, October 21, 2009

I really enjoyed this one. I hated the second one with a passion. This one may have had so bad cgi kills, but at least it had some serious tone to it. The second was so god awful even the kills couldn't save it. It may be to slow paced for some but at least they don't have any of the dumb redneck inbreeding shit. The ending was weak sauce but still I had a fun time with this one and actually look forward to another sequel.

LOL this was so much fuckin fun...The gore and death scenes were sick. But some things were so fuckin fake when the dude jumped onto the car LOL that was like some evil death 2 shit when they crossed the bridge... But the acting was decent.. the story was the same... I don't care if anybody else hates it. I liked it alot but the 2nd is still my fav...

so dissapointing, was expecting much more from it

Posted By: ghostofhaddonfield78 at 11:42pm, October 20, 2009

this movie bites the big one. i really liked the first one(probably because of Eliza Dushku) and the second one was fun and entertaining with some cool kills. this third one just bites. the acting is bad, the story is horrible, the cgi is horrible and i just wish they would end this series already. the only parts i enjoyed were a couple of the kills(the razor wire death) and the confrontation between three finger and chavez was pretty good. i also liked the twist they throw at the end but none of that can make up for the rest of this movie. its slow, boring and uninteresting, id pass on this one..

Wrong Turn 3 is the least interesting of the three films and the only one that I can’t recommend. While there were moments I liked, the film makers ultimately took a wrong turn (couldn’t help it) by leaving out elements that made the first two movies interesting; instead, they developed the story as a fusion of drama, action, and horror: Think, The Fugitive meets Deliverance, except they want to eat them not F--- them. The result is a very uneven film with moments of fun and gore, but ultimately not living up to the previous two films, and not good enough to recommend.

The story this time around begins with a late-night prison transfer by bus through the back roads of rural America. Through this event, we are introduced to the various prisoners and guards, each with his or her own story, who before long, all find themselves on foot in the middle of nowhere being hunted for food by another mutant hillbilly family. It’s this central plot and its characters which seemed out of place and unnecessary, and ultimately force the film down a road it should not have gone. By focusing so much on the drama surrounding this group of characters, the mutant family and their story is reduced to a mere plot device. They are now nothing more than a bunch of killers running around the forest, popping up every so often to kill someone. We have enough of those, and want something more from these films. And while the first two films did thoroughly explore these people and their life style, that is what made the films different and more interesting to me. I still find their story much more interesting than the fools’ on whom they feed, and would have liked to know more about these mutant hill people, beyond the few glimpses we get of their home and the one scene revealing that they are a family unit. Even their very appearance and actions seemed to be too much, reflecting how the film reduced them to inhuman, animal-like killers, forgetting that there are real people under all that makeup.

The one bright side to this film is the blood and gore, which won’t disappoint; and it’s these moments which keep the film moving and keeps it from being a total waste of time. Right at the beginning we get the franchise’s staple unexpected-arrow-through-the-_____ shot, along with an eyeball munching scene. This, along with many of the death scenes, lives up to what most will want and expect from these films. However, in between these scenes, the drama unfolding between the various characters was not enough to keep the film moving.

While I like that the film makers are trying for something new and don’t want to simply retell the same story, and I do hope there will be a fourth film, I also hope that this third installment was simply a wrong turn and this franchise will get back on the right road which made the first two films an interesting, unique horror film experience. I expect lots of reviews with statements like, “It’s better than _% of the horror films out here, so check it out,” as if this is some kind of recommendation and somehow makes a film better than it is. This type of statement should not be used to review horror films any longer. Most suck; some are great; this one is simply not very good. Why settle for less?

I was pleased again to return to Wrong Turn! I think this one brought back a lot of things like the beginning whereas the second seemed very different.Good but different.Of course neither have beat the first and although this ones acting was terrible besides Janet Montgomery and Tom Frederic and did spend too much time on the prisoner's and their plot, it still rocked! The kills were the craziest I've seen in the three and so I'm pretty glad to see how it ended because I feel safe to say 3 fingers is back and will be for a fourth round. Also these movies are shot so well why do they continue to go straight to dvd? I know the first bombed in the summer blockbuster round up but was a cult hit! idk but I hope they continue because I still put this one right up there with the other two.Maybe better than the second.

As a fan of the first two 'Wrong Turn' films, especially the first, 'Wrong Turn 3' is absolutely terrible and one of the worst sequels of the year. This film should have never have been a part of the series, as it feels nothing like a 'Wrong Turn' film. Well, apart from the presence of Three-Finger - but then again, he's barely in the film.

The script is awful and the whole prisoners aspect just didn't work for this film. All of the prisoners were unlikeable and stereotypical, with very little development. The lead girl was not lead girl material, and was either screaming, crying or standing in the background doing nothing. The dialog, especially in the opening scene, is so god-awful I wanted to hit mute. The acting ranges from horrific to bearable, with no memorable performances. Most of the actors are Brits playing Americans, and most of them keep slipping in and out of their accents.

There are no memorable horror sequences and absolutely no tension. Every character either steps into a trap, gets killed off-screen or is CGI'd with incredibly fake blood splatter. The film reeks of 'SyFy channel', which isn't surprising considering the director, Declan O'Brien, has an entire resume of SyFy productions and the same production services were used. Whether it's the cheesy 'TV movie' soundtrack playing constantly or the horrific CGI and green screen backdrops, it's really horrible to look at and makes 'WT2' look a blockbuster.

Where did it all go wrong? Wrong Turn 2 is one of the most well-received horror films of 2007 and one of the best DTV horror entries available. It received tons of praise from horror critics and fans, and I loved it. You'd think the series could only get better, but instead they give us this piece of sh-t? I know the trailer looked lame as hell, but I still wasn't expecting a terrible film.

The only worthy aspect of the film is the presence of Three-Finger and the fact the movie takes place on night, which was the main weak point of WT2. Everything else is a very low-budget SyFy channel flick merely posing as a sequel to what was once a great series. Prepare to be disappointed if you are a fan of the series.

3/10.

Just finished the movie on OnDemand. Not bad, pretty good gore but not exactly what I expected compared to the second. The movie was too focused on the prisoners plotting and killing as opposed to the mutants doing the damage. This was rather disappointing after an explosive beginning. But overall, its a solid film...definitely worth the rent.
