"Based on true events"? Reeeeaaaallly? That must make it more awesome than it would've been otherwise! Seriously, who are they trying to kid?

Everyone in this movie feels out of place. Save for maybe Cort, the little boy who collects fireflies. Everyone else just came off as "hey, I'm the obligatory cookie cutter _____! (fill in blank with jack ass brother, pedophilic perv, slut, angry father, virgin-esque female lead)".

The violent ex-boyfriend, Jimmy, is pretty much the epitome of cliche. They tried to make this little bitch of a man look hard by adding all these fake tattoos and giving him a bunch of angry swear filled lines but, holy crap, he pulls it off like a a dwarf on a catwalk.

It's also a perfectly good example of a movie where you know how the hell it's going to end from the beginning so there is no real surprise or twist; you just want to see how brutal and bloody the ending will be. Too bad even the ending sucks balls. Seriously, it's not even remotely gratifying and it seems to drag on forever. Something is either constantly happening to disrupt the tension or someone just stands around and talks for the next 3 minutes.

Biggest gripe (SPOILER!): after she escapes from Lola and runs into Jimmy. Why the hell do they drive back to the slaughter house to talk? WTF?! Dumbest, most illogical plan ever.

I just want the songs from the clubbing scenes.

The movie is a snore, good actresses, and nice filmaking but it just drinks up too much juice for character development and it takes too long for the old family truck to start up to the point where it's like..'let's go play truth or dare or something this movie is tame.'

Wow...what to say about Slaughter. I had mixed feelings about this movie but overall it left me in disappointment. The movie starts out slow, I mean it's a pretty decent idea, but decent is still pushing it. It took a while to get going, it lost alot of my attention and then it picked up once the torture settled in. But it took a really stupid turn. After the torture and the intensity stopped abruptly, the girl who escapes has a chance to kill the daughter who has killed her entire family and is about to kill her and then did one thing wrong...SHOWED MERCY! So, it ends with the killer killing everyone but herself, it pissed me off. I liked the music, I liked the mild gore it had and I liked the bugs in the bed scene. The acting was eh, and the dialogue was the same. Besides the title and the torture, I didn't like much else about this movie. Cheers.

this movie was good at best...it takes a long time to start up, but when it does the movie picks up and runs off to the races...

Slaughter was by far one of the worst horror films that I have ever seen. Actually, make it the worst horror film that I've ever seen. Horrible scripting and the story went nowhere. I fast forwarded through the last 15 minutes to find out the ending because it was so bad. This movie deserves a 0/10, but I have to give it a 2 because there is no option to give a horrible movie what it really deserves. =)

This is a really solid entry in the after dark library inspired by a true story. The film centers on a young woman running from her abusive past and settles down with a new girl she meets on her family farm. But suspicious events begin to take place and disturbing family secrets are revealed culminating to a truly nightmarish outcome. Slaughter feels a little lifetime movieish at times but it really does excel the standard cliches of its storyline. The film feels intimate almost to the point that I'm not sure that I'd wanna meet Stewart Hopewell. It rides the same line of suspense as the strangers but delivering a little more bang for your buck. It's slightly slow moving but suspenseful and the performances are believable. It really is a little gem more of a psychological thriller than a straight out horror film the film will surely leave you creeped out when it's far over.

So, this movie was okay.
The acting, once again, was horrible.
But it was a good story.

This movie is one of the better 'Horrorfest' I've seen. The acting is great. I really was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Like all horror movies it has its flaws. It was better then i thought it was going to be. 100% you should watch this one.

Slaughter- Okay, I just watched this and I'm not impressed, in fact I'm kinda let down. I knew it wasn't going to be the best. So I went in with low expectations which normally comes out in a good aftermath. I was wrong. This was beyond frustrating as to why the lead kept trying to kill the antagonist when she and another character could have left. I just wish their had been more action and maybe less shootings because thats the only death people suffered in this film. They were either shot, or hanged. Not much variety in this film. Don't expect much and maybe you'll like it more.

Really-so this is actually based on true events? People in the country are THAT bored? Anyway I'm sure it's loosely based on something. Slaughter is what it is and I must say it's one of the better of the 8 films to die for. The only problem I had was keeping track of the Faith and the other girl considering they both look like fucken twins. Anyway it was a good ride and I liked to gore, the tension of the farm setting and finally more men getting killed than women. The only thing not believable is the guy just standing outside the truck hollering around and then just letting Eve choke him--puleaze bitch-just turn around and coldclock her ass! Anyway it's worth giving it a shot I'd say--watch it.

this movie isn't as bad as two of the three people below me made it out to me...Amy Sheils is a good actress and is very pretty....the only thing bad about the movie is that the first hour is extremely boring... but the last half hour of the movie makes up for it....the ending is extremely hard to look at and disturbed me...just watch it and see the ending...it's a really gutsy ending for horror movies now a day where pretty much all the girls at the end survive..

Has the storyline feel of late 70s/early 80s horror films, but not as good as some of those films
that came out in that time frame, this has elements of motel hell and texas chainsaw massacre but
not in a good way, a pretty average horror film that doesnt offer much of what hasnt been done and seen
before, unfortunatly. and the grimm ending is also a big big negative that reduces the rating down a notch based
on that.

When this movie first started out, I was honestly scared it was going to suck. In the end though, I LOVED the movie. Gore was excellent and the end was killer! It 180ed completely from what I expected and came out quite surprisingly. Even the soundtrack (while the film has some sound issues throughout)was well-fitted to the movie.
**spoiler**
The bugs in the bed scene was beautiful, and the last scene was perfectly played out(music included).

ALERT!!! DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! I just caught the 10pm showing of this and it was the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen. How does a movie called Slaughter only have implied killings? I felt like the characters were holding my hand through everything completely insulting my intelligence, like I wouldn't know the evil bitch was trying to steal Faith's identity. I was feeling like this movie was going to be like Hostel with all of this pointless character build-up leading up to massive display of carnage... I mean a good portion of this movie takes place in a slaughterhouse and to be completely honest, there wasn't any violence by even the squirmiest of horror critics standards. There really should be some sort of horror screening process that would prevent such an abomination from ever being released, or made for that matter. The one good thing about this movie is that it would be impossible for Autopsy or Voices (the only other Horrorfest movies I have tickets for) to suck this badly.

ps... why can't I rate this lower than "2"?
