Not only the best sequel but the best Friday period! This movie is non-stop gore fest, slasher fun! Jason has never been better and neither have the kills! I could watch this one everyday!AWESOME!!!!

So I'm getting back into these films and frequently I hear that part IV is a fan favourite. And they are right.
Not only does it have all the right 'elements', it does them well. We get atmosphere (esp. the woods at night and the lightning/rain), brutal kills, hot girls, cliche but likeable teens, great cinematography, good score, Cory Feldman and Crispin Glover giving some memorable moments, etc.
It's hard to say exactly what makes a film work, it just all comes together right. And this is a highly entertaining and great slasher film.
This is by far the best F13 film, and while it's slow that is because it actually has story. The slow start is so worth it because the ending is spectacular.
The Trish/Jason chase scene rivals the Michael Myers/Lorie chase scene in the original Halloween. This is probably my #2 most favorite slasher film with only the original Halloween being better.
Jason is scary, and just down right mean in this film. The acting is the best of the series and Trish and Tommy bring a element to the film that was missing in all the movies that followed it.
I felt like all of the characters had a purpose and a place in the film. There was lots of nudity but it didn't feel out of place.
Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter is a overlooked gem, and is one of the few near flawless slasher films to date.
I am 32y/o and I remember seeing this in the theater when I was a kid. Have loved it every since.
I think this is one of the best entries in the series. Jason is a beast and it had good actors in it. Cory Feldman was actually pretty good in this film. And it was funny watching Crispin Glover catch a machete to the face...priceless. Recommended.

One of my least favorite F13th films. I liked the cast but didn't like Jason for some odd reason.I felt like this could have been a great way to end the franchise on a good level, but the ending was lame to say the least. My favorite part of the entire film was the very beginning but after that i lost intrest. :(

Out of all the FRIDAY THE 13TH movies I have seen (Original, Remake, and the Final Chapter), this one has to be the best, why?
Well, when deciding on which movies are good and bad, there are a few aspects you need to consider; plot, setting, cast, and effects. And guess what, they were all near flawless. Cast; Corey Feldman, who could do it better? Setting; middle of nowhere, best place for the slashin'. Effects, I am speachless, because they were awesome.
The only thing that was kind of if-ee about was the plot. Other than the slashing, the sex, and the slashing, it started to get kind of stale and boring.
But other than that, I would have to dub this film.... best in the series. For great cast, setting, and effects!
9/10

Definitely one of my favorites, the idea of having a younger kid is great, especially if it's Corey Feldman!!! And he makes some kickass masks/FX! The final fight between Tommy Jarvis and Jason Voorhees is short, but epic. Also has it's funny parts, great film.
The best of the "Jason" films that followed the original. Jason & his victims are by far the most well developed out of the series. The gore is abundant, the nudity is plentiful, it's sheer 80's bliss!
The best of the friday films IMO, the character cast is the best and some humor is balanced nicely with the kills, and Jason is great in it.
The dead fuck dialogue will always be one of my favourite pieces of dialogue in any movie
The Final Chapter was a pretty cool part in the series not just because it starred Corey Feldman, but this one had the most best death scenes in any other Friday the 13th film..in my opinion.
In case, you didn't know I'm an avid Jason Voorhees fanatic and have seen all the Friday the 13th films, except Jason X, yes even including Freddy vs. Jason and the new Friday the 13th. A lot of people praise this film, although I don't get the hype. While it's a solid Jason flick, I think it's far from the best. Here's why.
First, of all, the kills are just "quick-cuts" and happen too fast. Second, the film does get very tedious and does tend to drag. The acting was better than the later installments, but I've seen better acting in part 3. Also, was all that nudity necessary? I despise of nudity, I'm an anti-pervert and I had to skip through a lot of scenes. I understand that a typical Friday movie has some nudity, but none of the installments had this much.
With nitpicks aside, there was still quite a bit to enjoy. The characters were actually fun this time around and better than the later installments. The kills were the highlights of the long running franchise and they were highly gruesome. The introduction and the conclusion were the best. Jason was pretty good here, too.
Overall, I found The final chapter to be the last enjoyable film in the franchise, excluding part 6, which was good. While I don't think it's the best in the series like everyone says, it still packs a punch, especially for a sequel. It's inclusive of the typical Friday formula and can stand on its own.
One of my favs in the series. Atmosphere was excellent, as was the score. Ted White was terrific as Jason. He brought a real threatening presence to the character IMO. The "look" he gives Trish when she knocks his mask off says it all. What a moment!!! I liked the Rob character as well. It links the events of "Part II" to this one, with his sister "Sandra" being killed by Jason. Tom Savini's fx is just icing on the severed head!!! Tremendous film!!! See it...before you go camping!!!
An absolute gem (for this series anyway) and most certainly one of the best films ever made about a guy in a hockey mask killing people. Also, one of the last times Jason is scary, The Final Chapter is everything a horror film should be: fun, scary, gory and totally awesome.
i just rented this yesterday, and of course, as one of the biggest friday fans, watched it. it was pretty good, had some humor, like ted's "dead fuck". the deaths were good, and the movie was fun, although the black and white thing ted watched was wierd.
a pretty good friday, unpredictable, good suspense, and had good effects. i would reccomend this to a friday fan, you need to see parts 2,3, and 4.
Ok here's the drill. I know what you're thinking: It says final chapter but this is only the 4th one, didn't they make like 20 of these shit-fests? Ok smart-ass, first of all, they only made 10 and second if you're watching these movies for some sort of tight, Shakespearean plot, then you're an idiot and I don't want you reading my blog. Go away. Ok, now that he's gone listen up, I know why you watch these classics, T&A and brutal deaths. This movie delivers both in spades. This movie also sports the only Friday the 13th film with any semblance of legit actors and by legit I mean that you've heard their names before not that you heard them winning awards or anything. The two I am speaking of are none other than Corey Feldman and Crispin Glover, two by-gone 80's artifacts. The main thing I like about this movie is the fact that it actually makes an attempt to scare the audience. The atmospheres and locations are amazing in this sequel as it is also the last film in the series that really had a backwoods, alone in the forest feeling. Jason is also at his most brutal in this one. The plots of the 2nd 3rd and 4th films all take place over the course of four days and by the time Jason gets down to business in this one you can really tell he's pissed off.
The plot of the film is as follows: Jason was killed at the end of the 3rd film and is taken to the morgue, he promptly awakens breaks out and kills his way back to Crystal Lake. At the same time, a group of teenagers are heading to the lake for a weekend of fun. When they get there they meet their neighbors for the weekend, the Jarvis family. They consist of the mother and daughter and the young son, Tommy Jarvis. Jason arrives and begins to slaughter the people one by one. However the youngest Jarvis, Tommy, is a horror movie buff and is wise to Jason's game, and a showdown is inevtiable.
Ok, not Oscar-worthy, but definitely gives a good excuse for Jason to do his thing. The kills in this movie are also pretty top-notch as well. Special effects whiz Tom Savini came back to "kill" off Jason and his work in this movie is great. A tip of the cap to the way poor love -lorn Crispin Glover meets his end. Brutal. I also believe the music in this one is the most foreboding and creepy in this one, Harry Manfredini was brought back to end the series as well and really came through with his best work. The ending is sometimes a point of contention for fans concerning the film and when you see it you'll know why. I personally loved it and thought it would have been a great way to end the series. Alas, it was not to be as the massive financial success of this one was followed by six more sequels of varying quality. This to me is the best "bang for your buck" Friday movie of them all. You have everyhting you need for a great night: Jason, boobs, brutal deaths, and Crispin Glover doing an awesomely bad 80's dance. Good times!
This is my favorite of the Friday the 13th movies. I think it tells the best story of the Friday films. I realize they all pretty much use the same formula, but for whatever reason I just think this film works the best. Corey Feldman is great in his role. The part where he freaks out in his bedroom as he is peeping through the window of the kids next door is priceless. Crispin Glover is FANTASTIC in this movie. His dance moves could possibly be the best ever captured on film. If you looking for a good Friday sequel, Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter is the way to go.
My fave Friday. Actually, the first 4 are fantastic. When Jason was human these movies were fucking SCARY!!!

The best in the series, easily. The best characters, the best ending and the best acting. Also, it's one of the few movies in the series that was able to really create a good feeling of dread or suspense without feeling too contrived or ridiculous.

There was a time, back in the day, when the "Friday the 13th" movies were meant to scare you, not make you laugh. No movie in the entire series does this better that "Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter". This is the DEFINITIVE "Friday the 13th" movie.
Part 4 has the best of everything!! Story, cast,(Corey Feldman, Crispin Glover, Lawrence Monoson), graphic violence, killings, AND Jason.
Immediately picking up where "Friday the 13th Part 3" (the 2nd best of the series), "Friday the 13th Part 4" was such a brilliant addition to the franchise. For those who haven't seen the series, Part 4 is not a bad place to start, or finish. We get a great little campfire story (courtesy of Part 2) and a lot of great death sequences (from the 3 movies past) within the first 5 minutes. We also get real acting, & actual character development with the "Final Chapter". This was the last movie in the series that was actually made AS a horror film, and not as a cult film. And this movie does scare!
The killings in the "Final Chapter" are original and beautifully executed. Corkscrew to hand-then cleaver to face, spear gun right in the groin (YEAH BABY), banana vomiting, and 2 WONDERFUL crashing through the window sequences (one with twin Tina, the other with Trish) that still manages to frighten me to this day. The shower seen is pretty awesome as well, and even the dog isn't safe in this one! Awesome!!
After Part 4, the franchise became almost a joke, and the films that followed are nothing but camp. They are still good and watch able, but they weren't intended to scare the heck out of ya!
"Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter" does it all, time and time again. This film has gone under rated and without credit for many years. Many people say that the original "Friday the 13th" was the best, but I highly beg to differ. Part 1 WAS the original, but it's somewhat slow paced, and Tom Savini's masterful special effects are much more evident in Part 4. Tom was really on top of his game by the time "The Final Chapter" went into production. Part 1 has the scariest ending, I'll give it that.
If you want to see Jason at his peak, when he was a total bad-boy and really did some butt kicking, then look no further than this classic film in horror cinema!
This really was "The Final Chapter"; in more ways than one.
I thought this was one of the best ones in the series.

a cool jason flick that has great effects from tom savini who returns to the series after doing the f/x on part 1, interesting cast with corey feldman, and a hilarious crispin glover performance!
i loved the machette sliding down the head scene alot.
For me this is the last in the series since the other sucked balls(specially jason goes to hell and jason x) and i think this one is the third best in the series i really would of wish that the title of this movie would of been true (THE FINAL CHAPTER)
Very good film best gore in the whole series (just my opinion) was a bit boring throughout some parts of the film but the ending is when it really started to pick up one of the best in the series. Now if they would have ended the series here I thought that would've been good. But after part 6 and 7 the series just went downhill. This was the last time we had the original creepy Jason Voorhees.
Of course this is not the final chapter, but it is one of the better fridays. I have always loved this one. When i was a young teenager they would play this on tv on the weekends. This movie is really well done. Just enjoy this one. and don't forget the next two.
Possibly the best in the series. There's nothing I could say better than the official review already has, except: Crispen Glover axe to the face! Fuck yeah. Great FX. Good actors. Amazing kills.
I have to say... this is my fav Friday film... I think the series went down hill after this one... this movie lives up to the original with just as much terror and gore!
