"Give Yourself Over To Absolute Pleasure"

A mixture of musical, comedy, sex and horror, this has to be one of the most remembered movies ever made. Nothing short of a Classic!

The cast alone speaks for itself, including Tim Curry as Dr.Frank-N-Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet Weiss, Barry Bostwick as Brad Majors, Richard O'Brien (singer, writer and playwrite) as Riff Raff, Peter Hinwood as Rocky, Nell Campbell as Columbia, Patricia Quinn as Magenta, Jonathan Adams as Dr. Everett. V. Scott, Charles Gray as Narrator and finally Meatloaf himself as the wicked Eddie.

"This movie is a musical. So if musicals are not your cup of tea then best to leave this one alone. But I do recommend you give it a shot, as it is very entertaining, funny, shocking and outrageous. "The Time Warp" and "Sweet Transvestite" is bound to get you moving and laughing.

The movie begins with Janet and Brad talking about marriage. They have just left a wedding celebration and on the way back from the wedding they get a flat tyre. It is late, it is wet and anywhere with a phone will do. They stumble across an old mansion and an attempt to use a phone to call for some help, but they end up spending the night, which changes their lives forever.

Tim Curry is the owner of the mansion, he is a transvestite with his little family of weirdo's that live and party with him. Not only is he a transvestite but he is also a doctor in the process of making a man. And as Rocky is born, they all have trouble keeping him under control.

Meatloaf plays Eddie, one of the doctors failed attempts of making a man, and with a performance to remember. As Eddie is released, the Doctor goes mad and from then on in the movie takes a twist. As the doctor begins to kill people and they all lose their innocence, you get to see human nature at its worst and what people might actually do if put in such unusual circumstances.

The movie has a little bit of everything in it really, from transvestites, to mad scientists, to aliens! The songs are quick and the movie in general is very fast moving. It is full of colour, energy and very funny punch lines are scattered the whole way through the film. The actors are playing roles you never thought they would ever play and Tim Curry is the centre of the film. I honestly think it is one of his best performances ever!

The 25th anniversary edition DVD is packed with extra features including commentary, trailers, outtakes, deleted scenes, photo gallery, sing-along-songs and tonnes more.

It's a great film - Check it out! I give it 10 out of 10!
