Part 2 , like the original has such a creepy , edge of your seat feel to it that I love and is suspensful in all the right places. The kills and blood are pretty good , especially the double impalement. When the movie starts to get to the climax it really hits high gear and the tension ratchets right up. A great sequel in the franchise as are parts 3 and 4. I believe the first 4 are classic Friday movies as they were actually fucking scary.
Great movie acting was great , kills were good . The first four films were great i dont know what happened after that. The campfire seen was great and the seen with the spear in the bedroom was cool(dont hav sex cuz u know what happens). The first four Fridays were some of the best horror movies of all their low budget and that makes them great. I wish they would make more movies like these now
One of my fav Friday The 13th movies. Acting is good and the blood effects are alright.

The first two movies of friday the 13th just build up to how great the 3rd is. The second features Jason with a bag on his head, I wonder if the starngers to homage to that..hmmm.....Anyways the final scene is really good, very classic. Great franchise, first 3 films are good, after that the series gets stale.
Out of the entire series, parts 1-4 are my favs. Part II goes a little deeper into the Jason legend. One of the best scenes for me is one of the simplest ones. The campfire sequence is the first image that comes to mind when I think about Part II. John Furey did a masterful job of telling that campfire tale. It's an A-Z 8o's slasher flick. I only wish that the kills weren't edited so much. Hopefully since they're releasing the original film uncut, the other sequels will follow. The older films(1-4)just seem to have a more realistic/human element to them. The atmosphere, the use of light & shadow. If you believe in the environment in the film, it makes the story more believable. The rustic countryside, campsite, gave the film a very down to Earth quality. The new horror films just seem a bit too polished for my taste. I like the low budget horror much better. They just seem to concentrate more on the scares & less on the look, which is something that's sorely lacking in horror these days, although there are exceptions here & there. What I mean is that the location doesn't look like it was just built the day before filming began. It's been there a long time, there's a history there. It's old, worn, & dirty. That's what makes the older Friday films stand out for me. I think if they'd have stopped after Part 4, it would have saved the integrity of the series. Jason was killed off & the story came full circle. I do like bits & pieces of the newer films, but the heart of the franchise resides in parts 1-4. That's my two cents on the subject!!! I'm Quint's Machete & I approve this review!!!
As a young lad, "Friday the 13th Part:2" never really quite satisfied me as much as the movies that followed.
Not enough killings or blood,....and no hockey mask!! A recent viewing of this classic sequel provided this reviewer with a much needed refresher course in Camp Blood trivia. Part 2 has a lot going for it. Most notably, it is a nice look at the beginnings of a horror cult icon in his heyday.
While many of the killings in Part 2 go unseen or unbloodied, there are a few goodies that work nicely. We get a great psychological profile into the mind of Jason, which proves to be quite compelling indeed. Solid scripting, great production design and some good acting help this sequel to work masterfully. And although I have always been a long supporter of the hockey mask, there is just something truly dreadful (in a good and scary way) about seeing Jason run around with a burlap sack over his head.
This is the young, impressionable, hillbilly Jason... a character whose anger, rage, and depravity make him hard not to love. ;-) It's all very creepy ...and very effective!! While still not my personal favorite, "Friday the 13th Part 2" proves to be a solid, insightful, and very entertaining sequel in the long running successful franchise.
I loved the hooded jason version, it's funny looking and strange, this one is pretty similar tot he first, except this time it's really jason killing...classic stuff.
Not as good as the first but still doesn't stop this from being a great sequel some say better than part one not quite as good but still a very memorable sequel very recommended especially if you loved the original. The teenagers seemed to be around the same as the original actors acting still was good at all (Friday the 13th never had good teenager actors) Score for me seemed about a bit better than the first. A great sequel.
The original is scarier and more atmospheric, but if it wasn't, from a technically stand-point, it's hard to tell the difference between the two. Both are trash, but they're both equally as poor.
friday the 13th part 2 was to me just as good as the 1st one was. Jason had a awesome mask in this film and this movie made me jump a few times.(I have a surround sound system and i was watching the movie with the sound all the way up at midnight last night.) I thought this movie was pretty scary and had some really good kills. good way 2 bring jason onto the screen for the 1st time.
This movie is pretty good. Not the original that the first one was, but still good. It is a little less on the tensiona and style that the first one had, but good. I don't love this movie but i don't hate it. it is ok.
