I first saw this movie when I was about 5 years old (and my parents wondered why I turned out like this!?) and I hadn't seen it since then until about 5 days ago when I saw it at the bargain price of 5.99 and I couldn't resist! This film is seriously creepy stuff despite the certificate and shouldn't be viewed by 5 year olds (or they'll end up like me, not good by the way!)

The film is another by the legendary John Carpenter and I think this was his next project after the phenomenal success he achieved with Halloween. The film also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Loomis and her on screen father from Halloween.

It follows the story of a group of people living on Antonio Bay on the Californian coast around the time of the Bay celebrating it's 100th birthday. However, a secret has been hidden for 100 years, a secret that drenches the Bay's history in blood as the town was founded when a small group of settlers (including the town's priest) deliberately ran a crew's ship, the Elizabeth Dane, into the rocks off Spivey Point during a fog bank with all six members of crew on board to steal the gold they had on board in order to develop the town.

Grim stuff, I know. Now 100 years later, the fog returns to town at the stroke of midnight and the six crew members rise from their salty graves to reap a bloody revenge and take six innocent lives to make up for losing their own.

This film is very eerie and I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys other revengeful slashers such as the Friday the 13th franchise however, this is on a somewhat different level. It will most definitely leave you a little shaken by the end and unwilling to step out confidently into the fog. It's creeping me out just thinking about it so I'm going to leave it there! Enjoy!

Score: 9 / 10
