BD review is waaaay off. This is a great movie. While it is definitely a slow burn, it is very atmospheric, and the creepy moments are spine-crawly and effective. Great use of surround sound. When the faint sound of kids playing started coming from the rear left, I looked out the window, trying to determine what idiot was letting their kids play outside at midnight. So, yeah, great audio on the Bluray, at least.
This is a very faithful adaptation of an extremely unique story. Whether or not you like it, it is definitely a unique viewing experience, and it's worth a shot for anyone. From my own opinion, this comes highly recommended.
I'm really shocked at the BD review here. Mr. D obviously had someone wrong him the day he saw this. It is better than Midnight Meat Train and Candyman by a long shot.
He also didn't watch the movie close enough as his review wasn't exactly true of the movie.
Book of Blood has a great cast and wonderful script. The character relationships were strong, believable and natural. This is a top notch movie. I would definitely recommend ignoring the BD review, because this movie is awesome.
