Just to make things clear this is not a supernatural/horror movie not even close as the poster and the description makes it seem but more of psychological/drama about possession and hidden dark secrets that a small island town is keeping. I thought most of it was very slow moving but at the same time it was very fascinating and intriguing that I wasn't that bored with it and I thought the girl that played Dorothy Mills gave an memorable performance. Nothing in it was that creepy, scary or disturbing, it was just interesting and well played out as well as moody and tragic. I was going to give this 2 stars but I thought the ending was solid and it was a nice change from the normal horror offerings as of late but it's not a horror movie really. Overall if you enjoy psychological movies you will probably like this but if you want a full blown horror movie you might be disappointed. Rent.
This movie was a disapointment.....I looked at the cover for this movie I thought this might be good but no its not....the girl who plays Dorothy makes good costume changes but it need much more done to this movie it was weak.....why can;t they make better horror movies??
Seen the Wickerman? If you answered yes you will have deja vu while viewing this film. Not awful but far from great.

This is a great example of a movie with a strong idea that’s poorly executed. What could have been an alternate take on themes comparable to “The Sixth Sense” the storyline instead tumbles into a hollow drama poorly disguised as a Psychological horror.
On the plus side Jenn Murray as the disturbed “Dorothy” and Carice Van Houten as her Psychiatrist “Jane” play out their roles to near perfection.
I’m from Ireland and I’ve been looking forward to this film for almost a year now but for me what let it down the most are its gaping plot holes. The most obvious one of these is the fact that the Islanders live in fear of Dorothy and at times she is seen as a freak. So why would you ask this troubled teen to Baby-sit your child knowing what she is capable of. This plot point is what takes Jane to the Island to begin with to investigate the report and it’s as if the writers failed to notice this weak link in the story. Another gripe of mine is how Ireland is portrayed. There are no Islands around the coast of Ireland where the locals dress like they are stuck in the 1940’s or act like characters from “The Wicker Man”. I found this to be thoroughly distracting and it certainly brought forth more than a few giggles from the audience I watched it with. It would have been creepier if the Islanders were played straight and saw nothing wrong with exploiting Dorothy for her strange “talent” and were willing to KILL anyone who tried to take her away from them. This would’ve put Jane in jeopardy and as a result created tension and suspense both of which it is totally lacking in. This is a movie that’s more akin to “Agnes of God” than “The Exorcist” as it’s been touted.
If you enjoyed “Agnes of God” you will probably like this.
This was a great movie -- very satisfying for those seeking more substantive fare -- and anyone who fails to appreciate just isn't paying close enough attention. Or they're just a bit immature. Or they suffer from ADD. Or they just have lousy tastes in movies.

This was a really solid little script and a great cast. Dug it! Kid who plays DOROTHY is really talented, really strong in getting all the personalities across.
Proof positive that all the best horror is coming from outside the US these days: Eden Lake, Substitute, Let The Right One In, Inside, Black Sheep, Ferryman. Add this'n to the list!

Pretty good movie!
MrDisgusting should get some taste.......
i liked this film; the atmospere, the dreariness, the mood. It caused me to be totally involved in the film, and the acting by jenn murray was excellent. it's a great film to watch on a rainy gray day.
Finally saw this and was pretty impressed
with the personality twist. My only complaint
was the ending was a bit cheesy but for the most
part the acting was well done--very talented actress to make so many different voices
and the village was very creepy and fucked up
what they did. I love Foreign horror, a lot better than the shit being put out in the US
aka The Grudge 3 and Red Sands. I'd rather watch Dorothy any day

Somewhat of an interesting idea but poorly executed with nothing really great that would drive the film to be good or great. just kind of stale and plain to me.
