One of the best sequels ever? This is almost as good as the original Child's Play. Yes, there's comedy but it's not overdone like the later movies. I don't mind it because Chucky is a sick character like Freddy. But he's also funny and he's very badass in this, what with the awesome kills, lines of dialogue, the effects have improved (Chucky looks great) and he gets really f***ed up in the end. But sometimes you will be cheering on Chucky because of the grotesque characters he encounters (the teacher, the foster dad, etc).
The look of this film is great and it's shot well. I have to mention the score - Graeme Revell did a terrific job with it.
The final factory scene is a terrific showdown, yes Chucky replaces his lost arm by shoving the hilt of a knife into it. Cool.
best 'Child's Play' movie i've ever seen in my life.
if you thought Chucky had finally died, you've gotta be one non-horror movie fan.
the final fight scene at the factory must've been epic, i've a chainsaw-handed killer and a hook-handed killer, but i had never seen a knife-handed killer doll!
Heeeeeeeeers Chucky!! Ever since I was little this was always my favorite entry in the series. Andy is great and of course Brad Dourif knocks em dead as Chucky. I really don't know why its my favorite but some things just can't be explained lol. Highly Recommended.

Not as good as the first, though it had a few great moments, like the final confrontation in the factory. Good stuff.

I liked this movie just as much as the original. I agree the acting took a step down but the film held up from start to finish.
This, despite it's lower score compared to the original Child's Play, is a great movie. Despite the odd acting issues, and terrible scripted lines, this movie is a solid, doll killing horror gore fest! Chucky, the star of the first movie, is back and ready for action! After the rather great begining, the action really kicks off. That was the problem with the first movie (which I gave a 9/10 by the way), the action wasn't there, there wasn't enough. But this amazing sequel fixes that, with fast paced action, scares and gore. As I said earlier, the acting is a issue. Chucky's voice is a great as ever, but the rest of the cast seem to rushed, the acting isnt right. The scipt is also an issue, with some terrible lines and one liners, which are not funny at all. But, for a horror movie, it's pretty simple, and gory. The classic hack "n" slash element is back, with some rather good death scenes. I rather liked the "ruler" scene. But, for a sequel, this is a solid movie, that all horror, and Chucky fans will enjoy, even modern day. A solid movie.
Better fx along with gorier & more plentiful kills make for an entertaining sequel. While not nearly as frightening, Brad Dourif delivers some real laughs this time around.
Not as good as it's first but that's probably impossible to top, but it was fun, a bit more silly and over the top than necessary but overall a solid sequel.

Pretty decent sequel to a first great movie. Chucky definitely takes center stage in his relentless pursuit of Andy. Had some creepy freaky moments and the blood and gore turned way up, as it should be in a sequel. Higher body count and more violence and a chance to see Chucky do his thing after sneaking around in the first one make this a winner.

Child's play 2 is about Chucky returning in the sequel while Andy lives with another family and trying to protect them. As in the first nobody believes him. I think Child's play 2 is as good as the first and actually was pretty good considering this is a sequel. The acting was good, the kills were interesting, and Chucky was meanier and better than ever. I would highly recommend it. The only thing I despise of the film is because the original is still the best. Other than that the film is perfect.
Enjoyed it. The best of child's play. 1-3. Bride and seed just sucked.

The first sequel after Universal bought the rights to make Chucky a franchise. It's in this film that Chucky becomes a full character. Rather than sneaking around in the shadows and only coming to life when he's about to strike, we get to see plenty of Kevin Yagher's animatronics and hear plenty of Brad Dourif's hilarious performance.
This movie never for a moment tries to be genuinely dark or scary or build a sense of dread, but does a great job at injecting a welcome dose of fun and sick humor into the series. And boy, was this just what I was looking for in a horror movie when I was 13. The big finale at the toy factory is still one of my favorite horror chase scenes.
PS I had a huge crush on Christine Elise, so her inclusion in the film helped my enjoyment immensely.
i like this one a little more than the original because andy isnt some little kid who doesnt look like he even knows what he is doing most of the time when he is acting and you actually see him with a personallity
this movie, believe it or not, is one of my all time personal favorites!!!!.....the only chucky movie i absolutley LOATHE is seed of chucky

I think the reason I found this film to be so rad,is probably because it was my first horror movie. I was about 5 or 6 and it was on USA. It scared the urine right out of me. Looking at it now though, it's not scary, it's actually pretty funny. And I think it will be hard to forget Chucky's death in this one. One of the best monster deaths of all time.
