This one was fucking horrible, almost as bad as H20!

Not wonderful, not awful, but stuck somewhere inbetween.
One Of The Better Sequels I Think Donald Pleasence Last Stand And Paul Rudd First Movie.
Love The Death Of The Father The Dick Got What He Deserved.Worth The Watch I Think But Hay I'm Usually Stoned
An absolute mess, I'm not sure if anyone involved had any idea what they were doing...all the ideas & mystery set up in the previous film are completely shat upon here. What we wind up with is Donald Pleasence last screen role being this mess, the man deserved better.
Eh didn't get most of this one.Definitely not one of my favorites although it has its moments.especially toward the end.Lots of suspense there.Michael looked great though!
So mediocre. Don't know where to begin. Plus it links Michael to the the Druids from the third film. How weird is that?
Paul Rudd's in it, which is funny to see given his career now.
Best part is the little girl dancing under the dead body. "It's raining red mommy!" Hearkened back to a time when movies were more about atmosphere than blood and guts.
This was one of the best sequels in the series, I love how Michael was just a beast, this film did a good job of showing the audience how sadistic and vicious Michael is, no mercy! Although the "thorn" storyline wasn't appealing to me, I think its still a more respectable entry in the Halloween series.

Myers is so brutal in this one. A dark movie indeed.
This film tried to explain why Michael Myers couldn't die it didn't do the best job of explaining but the deaths were brilliant and the and the story was much better than Halloween 5
Not a bad entry in the series. A lot better than 5 and Resurrection. This one would have to be the most brutal and violent as the kills were nasty, especially the head explosion , the axe decapitation and the hospital massacre. Bring on the pain indeed . Enjoyed seeing Paul Rudd in it and Donald Pleasance is always welcome as loony old Loomis. The atmosphere was great throughout and loved that it was filmed in the actual season of Halloween. The only thing I didn't like was that Myers was made into a druid. Other than that a good decent film filled with dread, strong blood and violence and sadly for Halloween fans , the last role of Donald Pleasance as loony Loomis.
i enjoyed this one.the story is not as strong but the scares more than make up for it.one of the more brutal entries in the series.highly recommended for true halloween fans.

the worst of all halloween movies, a mess of a confusing movie that doesnt know what it wanted to be in the end result, i want to see a good version of the producers cut and see what was so different about it, sad that donald pleasance died during the filming of the worst halloween movie, was hoping he'd be around until part 22

OK I am sssoooo sick of people bad mouthing this movie. Im a huge fan of Halloween movies. Can't really say the Halloween series. 1,2 of course! 3 is good by itself(knowing John Carpenter and Debra Hill didnt want any sequals of Michael Myers rather differant films that take place during Halloween). 4 is ok 5 has some really bad characters(the goofy cops) but it introduces the Thorn element. Something from the first one but is only found in the book! READ THE BOOK!!! It really does change everything. The guy who wrote the review for BD is RETARTED!!!!! H20 was great and Resurrection just plain pissed me of with the killing of Laurie. And Busta kicking Michaels ass-give me a FREAKING BREAK YOU SPOTLIGHT HOG!!! Rob Zombies--lets just say thats a whole other story. OK on to the 6th. The mask was definitly NOT generic. part 4 was generic. I loved how Joe(the director) using kinda like blacklight effect on it. One of the best scenes ever in the Halloween franchise is when Michael is in the barn after Jamie and the lighting flashes. He's there then he is not. The apitome of the Boogieman! As of now i havent seen the P-cut but i have ordered one and will watch soon. What i have heard is that Michael is reveiled as the father of Jamies baby. That i must is say is dumb but i can get over it(the cultest are doctors-could have artifically insemenated) dont know what their thinking is behind this. I always thought it was Wynn's(the cult leader). The Strodes must have recently moved into Mike's house NOTE THE SOLD SIGN which the kids put a Michael Myers thing on.(there is a picture of it here) The father knew about the house because of his brother. We find out of course he has kept the history of the house from the rest of the family. The eldest daughter and her son also must have moved in with them recently explaining more so their ignorance. I loved the fact that mom and dad's names are John and Debra(Carpenter and Hill). Also love that they brought Tommy into the story. I felt as well that he could be the next "Dr. Loomis". Someone who understands( if not more so)what Michael Myers is. The soundtrack was awesome. It was actually shot during the fall which is a plus. The death scenes are great. Some you see. Some suggestive. Some of my fav-When Debra gets killed- Beth getting stabbed in JUDITH'S ROOM. I mean c'mon! And the first kill was chilling with the classic Michael slightly tilting his head after the kill. Tommy's landlord (the old lady) being in on it with the cultest was a great twist! "Hello dear!" SENT CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE. And Kara's reaction is great. The only part i really was upset with was shortly after that when Tommy and Loomis "wake up from being drugged". They should have just knocked Tommy out and brought him and Loomis with them to the hospital where Wynn could have tried to convince Loomis to join them. Loomis trying to convince them that they have no control over "THE EVIL". Then Wynn being like we will see and leaving them to mull it over or something. Another small thing that bugs me is not knowing what the cultest really wanted to do. I mean i didnt see where they were controlling Michael. The big differance in this movie compared to the others is that it has a true plot. Maybe too much of one but none the less a plot. It wasnt character driven. And yes you lose a little of the idea that Micheal is just the boogieman. But really that idea is silly. I mean u see him as six year old child killing his sister for no reason then 15yrs later he is someone who doesnt get killed by being shot... this movie attempted at expaining that. But if u have read the book then you really already kinda knew the idea behind this. Like Rob Zombies' movie. (Didn't like his to well) Some people wanted an explanation some didnt. So i can see why people didnt like the film(s). I just dont feel this movie deserves all the flack it gets. And while terror may never rest in peace I hope Donald Pleasance is.
It had cool scares but the story was just horrible common Michael Myers shouldn't be controlled by anybody and especially because of that stupid thorn idea that came from part 5. They should have just dropped all of that. First time I saw it I never hated it I just had a strong dislike for it and don't dislike as much as i did now. But still hated the story Donald Pleasence deserved to be in a better film then this disappointing film should have been better.
I also own the theatrical version on dvd as well and again I still enjoyed and besides Donald Plesence I thought Paul Rudd was the best new face to reintroduce to the series and sence Dr. Loomis passes away(R.I.P.) I thought Tommy could have been the new ahab of the series.
I really enjoyed this one, the story wasn't as strong but the scares were great!!! I think this movie deserves a lot more credit. Definitely recommended!!!
A lot of people like to hate on 'Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers'. I'm here to say you should reserve all of those creative put-downs for 'Halloween 5'; 'Resurrection'; and 'Rob Zombie'. Yes, the sixth entry is fucking weird, and yes, there are some pretty ridiculous explanations put forth for your viewing confusion... but let's try and focus on what little "that was pretty cool" to take away from this. First off, it's more watchable than Part 5. Second, Mikey Myers is PISSED in this outing, and it shows by body count and the ways in which he dispatches stock characters. Third, the wonderfully brilliant Paul Rudd stars as a quarter-life version of Tommy Doyle. Director Joe Chapelle maintains a dark, brooding tone throughout and that alone should be commended. I loved the scene where the Strode mom tries to get away through the laundry and is met by Myers with an axe. FACE! I giggled watching Donald Pleasance run around crazy as ever, then felt bad for the old codger in the credits when I realized he croaked during this. This is a film that has some classic 'Halloween' moments, but as a whole is WAY troubled in its storytelling, horrible soundtrack, and annoying characters. Michael as a druid is very lame, but Michael taking out an entire hospital staff with a surgical machete is awesome.
