An very good supernatural/horror movie that delivers the frights and slow building intensity and suspense. Sure it's similar to an asian horror movie, but a pretty darn good one at that. Jaime King gives a good performance here and deserves to be in more movies. The music score was stellar and added on to the suspenseful scenes. I don't know why they didn't release this to theaters it's definitely worthy of it more than some lousy, pointless horror movies and remakes that get released to theaters, that's just bs! Overall if you wan't a slow building, spooky ghost story for a rainy night, grab the popcorn, turn off the lights and enjoy! Recommended!

Slow. The film really drags on for the first 45 minutes, but gives off little inklings that are the main reason for you to keep watching. The ending wasn't really a shock, which I think it was supposed to be, and the overall film seemed a little dull, like it was missing something. It tried to be alot like the really scary horror Asian flicks, but having 99% of the cast Chinese, doesn't make it scary, when there is nothing actually shocking about the movie. The one intriguer is the ghostly 17 year old figure, and I only stuck around to see her back story.

The plot seemed a little unoriginal, but somewhat original in the sense, that I personally haven't seen a film use that kind of ending, or twist if you like. The film was only 1 hour and 20 minutes long, and although it was good in this case, I feel with a little more woerk, and changes the story could've been better presented.

The acting was average, with no standout's, or letdowns. The could've been better to some degree.

Overall "They Wait" has the vibe of a Asian horror flick, but it only had one intriguer going for it, and it dragged on for a while. My rating is 2/5

In general, this movie was a cut above standard asian-inspired horror fare. The acting wasn't stellar, but at least the plot was original and the film didn't rely on cheesey effects. I definitely plan to see it again.

Well I didn't think it was that bad! It kept me awake and entertained, maybe it wasn't the movie that was entertaining and it was my 16 year old jumping that was keeping me amused. Yes full of bad effects, and overacting (the mother, come on!) but I did want to see the ending. What do you want for the cheap bin at the movie store. Don't knock it until you've seen it.
