"Come on there's always room for jell-o... I hate Jell-o"-Peter and Winston, Ghostbusters 2

Most of us have seen the original B-movie with Steve McQueen. Sure it was a classic, but are we really that scared of a growing jell-o mold? The remake offers us what they didn't have the technology for in the 50's, horrific special effects.

A meteor crashes in a near by forest. As the town settles down from a winning football game, slowly something emerges from the space rock. An old man has his hand engulfed by the slime, and slowly it grows. A rebel (Kevin Dillion) tries to help the old man, as slowly the blob grows too big for just one person, and the town isn't too far away.

The special effects in this movie almost rival those of the thing. They are just as horrific, but that's one of the only things to watch the movie for. The acting isn't great, and the fact that the script sounds like it was written by the Wayne's Brothers doesn't help either. But it is a good remake that is semi loyal to the original. Sure Kevin Dillion is no Steve McQueen, but he does try to give his best. All in all this is just a fun movie with kick ass special effects; it's worth a few viewings.

Score: 8 / 10
