Watched this last night, I thought it was preety good, was a little predicatable, and also slow at times, i.e. when they were just sat in a tree doing nothing, but all in all a good movie with some nice suspence and action.

ehh, It was okay for what it was. Good acting and a bit of suspense but nothing compared to Rogue.

This turned out to be a decent movie, I definitley enjoyed watching it.

That being said, Rogue is far superior in my opinion, but I still reccomend seeing this movie before or after you see Rogue.

this movie was simply awesome i was so on the edge of my seat all the way through it i just couldnt take my eyes away from it at any moment, the thing is aswell i had no idea what the film was about i just wanted something cheap and scary from the videoshop and i liked the front cover that was it, but what a find simply awesome i love everything about it, the acting, the effects, the location, the direction, brilliant, just blew open water straight out of the water, this is how that movie should of been

*Spoiler Alert*

Very slow in some parts. You don't see enough of the crocodile. Predictable.

I was kinda disappointed by the size of the crocodile. Also - even though I'm no expert on crocodiles I don't think there's any way a crocodile that size is flipping over a boat.

After the guy flipped the boat and came up for air, he latched onto the side of the boat and dangled there for a bit. How about jumping right into the boat instead of advertising yourself as a meal? It was way too obvious as to what was going to happen next. Give the viewer some credit of intelligence and allow the guy to get his body 3/4 out of the water before the crocodile lunges from the water grabbing him by the leg and pulling him under.

It's an alright film, but I thought Rogue was a much better.

Three cheeky monkeys sitting in a tree teasing Mr.Crocodile "You can't catch me" ...
Along came Mr.Crocodile quiet as can be ....
Snap snap snap ... no more monkeys sitting in a tree :D

This movies rocked!!!!

I loved it.. it was grim and intense. I love most when animals attack movies so I knda though I was going to like this one and I really did!

The acting's really good and the script and directing are killer .. I highly recomend this movie. Australia has been making some really good great films in the past few years and this is one of them.

This croc feature is a way better than the over hyped Rogue. It just goes to show once again, that you don't need a huge budget and big effects to create a movie with suspense and tension. Plus the fact that real crocodiles were used in some scenes adds to the realism. The story is much more believable as these characters find themselves stuck in a much more terrifying situation. Stuck up a tree in a swamp in the middle of nowhere and being stalked by a man eater is a predicament that no one would want to be in adding to sense of dread, and not knowing where and when the croc is going to rise up ramps up the scares and tension even more. A pretty good film considering the no budget and a small cast of 3. Could have had a little bit more blood, but then so could have Rogue. This is worth a watch.

Average. In all honesty i turned it off half-way through watching it the first time, because the croc was only shown once. Then a friend said watch it all, you'll like it. It often gets compared to Rogue, and never gets better reviews. When a continued watching it, the croc did come back and a few scenes were entertaining, but for me it took too long to get into the story. Majority of the film, they're stuck in a tree, and they just talk, which isn't very interesting apart from one of the sisters telling the other she's pregnant. It can't compete against Rogue, because Rogue is unbeatable, if you take any other croc film they're shit compared to Rogue.
The plot was very simple and if it was going to standout it needed to be interesting and have lots of great dialogue. It didn't. Only about five scenes in the movie are great and keep you hanging on for more. With the pregnant sister they tried to make you fell for her when she is attacked but they don't make you feel as if she is going to die. I like the setting of the plot, just not the dialogue.
The acting is believable, and to a point perfect. You feel for them in some scenes when they feel like giving up, but they don't. The acting is probably one of the best parts of the movie.
Overall, Black Water, doesn't shock, but it's entertaining to a point. My rating is 3/5

We actually did a killer-crocodile double feature here, after reading that 'Rogue' got a top 2008 spot here on Bloody Disgusting (...I forget the *exact* wording), and reading a bunch of posts talking about 'Rogue' vs 'Black Water' and which was better, I figured watching both back-to-back was the only option.

Black Water was quite great. The story will sound weak as I type it, but 3 people are stranded with a territorial crocodile. (Think 'Open Water' in a swamp in Australia.) What was great about the film is what the director did to give the overall 'mood' of the three stranded people, and I found myself thinking that I was not sure what *I* would do if I was in that situation. Black Water never went to a 'oh-my-god-theres-a-giant-mutant-crocodile-after-me' chasing me, but left me with a feeling of dread that I never knew what was going to happen.

Overall, I think I prefer Black Water. Favorite scene was definitely the at thunder/lightning storm at night, where the screen flashed then returned to black. The sounds effects during it were outstanding. While there wasn't as much flesh ripping or people tossing as Rogue, the overall tone made it a great movie.

This movie contained less blood and gore and more emotion and adventure. There were lots of good scenic shots of Australia. It was a real story of survival and out smarting the elements and, of course, the crocodile. It was a unique horror movie and it was refreshing because it was not a slasher flick.

I enjoyed the ending because there was a change in the character roles and responsibilities. The weak become the strong and the strong become the weak. The decision making and problem solving processes were great. The alternate ending option at the end of this movie would be great because the cause and effect principle played such an import part in this movie. The accents were pretty cool but the acting was mediocre. I also learned a fair amount about the nature and habits of the crocodile, so that was pretty interesting. If I were to introduce horror movies to a person with a weak stomach, this would be the movie. In the battle between Black Water versus Rogue, I would definitely prefer Black Water.

I rented this flick from Blockbuster last year thinking it would suck so bad. But I was actually pleasantly surprised. The film actually builds up tension and suspense rather over-the-top violence. I also liked how they revealed the crocodile at the end of the movie, rather than every minute reveal the creature. The acting and the script are both strong. Even though I thought the ending could have used more work Black water delivers. Don't be fooled by the stupid, cheesy DVD cover. This is one heck of a crocodile film. Both Black water and Rogue are kick-butt crocodile films.

Black Water > Rogue

This croc film was just ok not great, definitely worth watching just once. Rogue is still the best croc film out there.

great

Didn't like it. No suspense here due to the fact that the acting is awful and it just doesn't feel real. I like the fact that they wanted to only rely on actual croc footage, but considering how little you see of it, is not worth mentioning.

I don't know why they'd give this movie such a crappy title and cover art... It doesn't do it justice cuz it's actually pretty good. I wouldn't classify it as a monster movie at all, despite the croc... It's more suspense driven and leaves a lot to your imagination. Check it out.

Suspense,Terror and gore!. This movie delivers on so many level's. You really feel for the cast when you understand that "NO DUMMY CROC'S" Were used in the Film, Yep! That's right, Every shot is of real Croc's. The Fact that The Directorial Team of Andrew Traucki, and David Nerlich, were on a very tight budget and still manage to scare the pants of you, makes this the better film in the genre. So,If you've seen Rogue(Which was based on the same true events),and Primeval, Then this will Appeal to you.
