The first thing wrong was that the poker buddies reacted to the main situation to quickly and clichely(if that is a word)it was like they knew they were in a movie. There was no chemistry between none of the actors and had a feeling like the scenes just wanted to be over with no passion, too much of play it by the numbers. and the twist got twisted way before the middle of the film. dissapiontment big time.

This is not a horror film but for a low budget thriller its fun to watch once. Give it a try.

The twist in this movie at the end I didn't find to appealing or that great, it started off as if it was gonna be a good one but then it dissapointed me as it went on, acting I thought was a little better then decent, overall a 5 out of 10.

Its ok. The acting is decent and the plot is as well. I don't agree with 7 out of ten. While its not a B movie, its like an A - of a movie. Can the main actor just talk normal and stop whispering in every scene ?

I knew I was in trouble when the opening of the commentary track (with Schaech and director McCann) reveals that they have "added a twist at the end that changes all the previous events of the movie" ....... Fantastic, so you have taken a streamlined novel that was basically ready to go for a movie adaption and changed it. Wouldn't want to capture any of the suspense or impending dread that book was able to dish out. The movie itself is competently made, the performances are at the very least adequate and range up to pretty good. And aside from some heavy handed and misguided use of the "colored" rooms (ala Argento)the film itself looks great. But it fails to deliver any of the mood and atmosphere of the book and it gets bogged down in extra storylines and an absurd ending that screams "LIFETIME MOVIE OF THE WEEK". If this was a title that was peeking your interest, do yourself a favor and grab the book instead.
