Dead Birds- now that was a good film. Red Sand, on the other hand, is a trainwreck. It's amazing how badly the directors went wrong with this film. I honestly think the film could be boiled down to 15mins and nothing important would be lost. There is no character development, the environment is boring, the deaths are rubbish, and the plot is so thin I could see the insides of my TV. All in all the film is BORING and I honestly couldn't wait for it to end.
This movie was not particularly scary, gory, and seemed to not know exactly what kind of a horror movie it was trying to be. We have a sargent that goes nuts and kills a couple folks. Then we have some Pitch Black want to be type supernatural creature that shows up like twice. And we have a native girl that is a creature too. The acting wasn't half bad. And if they would have played the psycho sargent angle more we might have a winner. But, they didn't. So we don't. It was a decent watch at best. For a movie that wasn't sure what it was actually supposed to be.
