While I agree that the third installment absolutley sucks, I do not believe it is because pinhead became the main antagonist. Actually, I think that was the logical move, and it seemed thats how the movies were going.
I think that a lack of motivation and creativity combined with the feeling of need to create another one, sort of got the ball rolling on a downhill slope sadly.
However, both 3 and 4 I still LOVE to watch, more because I love laughing at it. Still love the series. :D
