The best thing about this film was that it was free for me to see it. I dozed off about 3 times and everytime I woke up I hoped for something interesting to happen only to be let down each time. I usually wait for the credits to end in hopes of some hidden scene but as soon as this film ended I got up and left. I would have left during the film but I was there with other people. On the plus side, Kate Beckinsale has a decent shower scene.

I can't believe a movie this dull got a theatrical release! I mean it was so by the numbers if that, bad story, bad script, bad execution, bad use of atmosphere and judging by the title and poster MISLEADING! There was hardly any action in it and were was the thrills, it also had a slug pace that there was alot of times I just wanted to walk out but I stayed hoping something big would happen but nothing did and its ending was very lame and lousy and halfa$$ed! Kate Beckinsale's talent was wasted in this rubbish, this was definitely a missed opportunity in every sense of the word! It was just a weak, weak, weak effort!! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!!

I saw this movie with the hopes that it may either be a good horror or at least scifi flick. What I got was a very sub-par thriller. With the predictable conclusion and bland visuals it was one of the most boring times I have ever spent in a theater in recent years. One scene involves a few of our cast having a basic knife/gun fight during a whiteout. (Expect the better part of this movie to be the color white) This scene is the worst part of the movie. But it is supposed to serve as part of the climatic ending. I just couldn't wait for the movie to get over with. Not even Tom Skerritt could save this film. I felt the effects were on par with a Lifetime movie starring Kate Beckinsale. I would definitely save my cash for a more worthwhile film coming down the pipeline. Or go and watch John Carpenter's The Thing instead... that's at least the right direction the trailer pointed in...

Ok so from all the negative reviews of this I was skeptic but LOVE me some Kate Beckinsale and some horror thriller type so I just got back from seeing it.idk if it was the negative reviews or what but I enjoyed it.It was much better than anyone has said.It kept me entertained with the mystery and sudden attacks throughout and kate's whole back story. It was a good mystery thriller. No not horror but still some blood and a lot more action than I thought would be.And come on people that one shot of Kate's ass(although undies on) getting in the shower oh so close up was worth the ticket price!:)
Anyway if you like the mystery thriller's along the lines of the Ashley Judd Morgan Freeman type from the 90's I believe you will enjoy this!

This movie was pretty lame. Could of been something better. But it seemed as if it didn't know where to go. So it decided to play a save route. Which turned out to ruin the movie. But if your looking for a decent time killer when nothing else is out on a rainy day. I guess see it. If not spend your money on something else.

Whiteout is a recycled thriller set in the snow. There, that's basically it. But, don't think of it as all that, because Whiteout isn't all that bad, once you get past the first thrity minutes. A simple plotted, action type horror thriller, that doesn't come short of over the top scripted one liners and corny action. The acting isnt prize winning worthy, the plot is simple, and the suspense isn't nail biting. But, Whiteout offers what some other snow based thrillers have not, energy. The action is there, and at it's peak it's on the edge of your seat moments, and some great, visual camera work, and wonderful settings. But, I say, not worth a price at the cinema's, so wait until it's out on DVD and Bluray, and rent it, because it isn't that good. So, for that...
