This concept has been done a lot but I really liked it. The execution is quite disturbing and the film is far better than it has any right to be with really strong performances. and cute boys.
I was really looking forward to this having seen Sean Pertwee in Dog Soldiers and Alex Reid in The Descent but it was a huge disappointment.
It did have a good storyline and there was a healthy amount of blood and guts in it but it has some of the most unlikeable and obnoxious characters I have ever seen in a film. The skinhead lad in particular was a nasty piece of work and deserved to have the shit beaten out of him.
And yes I realise they were all meant to be serious offenders but it kind of ruins the film when you are rooting for the bad guy to kill them all off!
I also didn't like the fact that is was racist in parts, VERY homophobic and there were several scenes of violence towards women by that skinhead lad that left a nasty taste in my mouth. Yeah once again it may well be like that in a young offenders institution but it isn't acceptable!
There were also several bits of the film were it just got plain ridiculous. The *hero* if you can call it of the film turning into Rambo. The skinhead killing his best friend and then leaving that girl to die.
Wow I loved this movie Toby Kebbell (RocknRolla) was wicked in this movie.. I loved the caractors and the gore was sweet. I give this awesome flick 10 out of 10
An excellent source of UK survival horror! It very much reminds me of dog soldiers and the descent type of pace throughtout the film. The kill scenes are top notch! Alot of good gore and blood scenes to thrill the gorehound. Alex ried I enjoy watch to bad she was not in the movie longer as she was the best actor in the film. In all if you like survival bloody horror then this is for you!
Saw this late night on demand and was pleasently surprised. This was definitely a gritty and violent movie. The dogs were great and the timing of most of the kills were very good, especially the male guard, never saw it coming and then he is full of arrows and being eaten alive by crazy german shepards! The conflict amongst the teens was great, I loved the fact that they didn't all suddenly work together and become better people, they fought and plotted against one another, turned on one another and killed each other! Great! The vengence seeking father killing them all was solid and the special forces stuff definitely added to the realistic killings, there wasn't anything extraordinary about them, he used his skills to wipe them out. Overall very good film and worth a watch.

I really liked it. Some of the acting was a little 'off' in places, but overall it was very good. The deaths were pretty interesting, and the special effects were good.
