An harsh, bloody, mindtrip that wasn't my cup of tea. First of all the whole pausing the scene to talk about who is who and what is about to happen got old really fast and slowed the movie down big time! There is nothing about this movie I can point out that impressed me except for the whole chair device, that was pretty inventive. No one in this movie was likable except for Rachel Fowles, the rest were dry and stale. The atmosphere is the only thing going for it, other than that it was a pretty uninteresting and unsatisfying, trippy horror film. This was weak coming from the director of the brilliant horror movie Broken, hopefully his next movie Blood River will be better than this. Skip it!
A vivid and disturbing journey, though not without its flaws. I can't really say which part of it was more unsettling, the reality of it all in the end, or the "hell dimension". The mutilated, bloody faces of the victims are still fresh in my mind even days after watching it. Just beware of the narration, it does become tedious.
The movie is full of twists - and that can only be good - but overall, I found it pretty poor. The concept sounded interesting, but After the first five minutes, I had already begun to wonder what I should have for lunch.
The film is original as far as the basic concept goes - I mean, how often is there a film based almost exclusively around a dodgy chair? But the characters annoyed me by varying degrees, and although the twist was good, I found it a little disappointing.
Although the concept was fairly original, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was watching a knockoff version of 'Session 9', with a not-quite-jason-statham lead actor, who's accent changed multiple times throughout, which frankly confused me.
Overaell, Poor beginning, decent middle, interesting end, decent gore - yet the actors grated, and the twist wasn't QUITE enough to salvage it. Good effort though.
WOW! The movie started off really cool and then like halfway through the movie i was getting a cheese feeling. I almost turned it off and kicked my own ass for buying it. Im glad i didnt!!! This flick turned twisted then kicked my ass for me!!! Awesome movie!!!

I can plainly say I was not expecting much from this movie, and boy was I suprised.. Brutal, twisted, this movie makes you think one thing and then halfway through smack you around and show you something else.. The twist ending came pretty much out of nowhere and though at first I was confused, after a few mins it all made sense.. This movie, well not amazing, is worth a watch just so you can go "what the?" near the end.
this was insane movie and I wouldn't recommed it while being high....it was gory and crazy then ending was a twist....this is a good example why mental hospitals shouldn;t be closed down.
Personally I thought Mason's previous attempt was a more visceral production. This was definately a lot more ambitious. But I definately agree with another review I have read about this film, that it would have achieved much more if it didn't feel such a need to explain so much with the irritating monologues by Nick. Secondly I thought this movie had a bunch of good ideas, and I personally thought the raw ending was very well done. But overall, even with all of the overexplaining, I still felt that there was too much involved in one film to really let itself feel solid. Still, this is one that I keep reflecting upon after seeing it, and I did really like it overall.
I loved it...pure and simple..this movie was a breath of fresh air for me...The cover looks cheesy, but, it is well worth the rental charge...one of my favorite pychological-horror films in a good while...
After reading the BD review I was expecting something . . . I don't know, BETTER. This isn't that good. The acting is pretty good for an indie project, well, actually the acting is mostly just pretty good period. BUT there's a problem with our expectations if this can pass as "genre bending". I'm not dense, I get what the filmmaker was trying to do, but the twist is fairly cliche and easy to spot and the whole thing is so goddamm pretentious. Oh well.
