The movie is filled with rape, violence, and disturbing imagenery. It's sick as fuck, and disturbing as hell. That's why the movie is so good and scary.
People have often asked Dario and Asia if the things he does to her on film bother either of them..and they always say it's only a movie!!! Well THE STENDHAL SYNDROME proves that it really is a movie!!! With rape after rape of Asia and vile abuse at the hands of a mad man, Dario proves that family ends when the camras on!!! A very dark film filled with the usual Argento-isims great atmosphere, great camra angels, and twisted look at love art and insanity!!! A brilliant film by a brilliant director; not for the week hearted but if you can make it through the first rape scene you'll really enjoy this untypical Argento film!!! Weird film, but what do you expect from Argento, an easy ride. Worth watching, eventhough I became bored I still wanted to see what happened. I was happy with the results. Asia is a good actress, I think people under estimate her.
Once it finished I felt werid like i was in another world. But I do need to see it again.
